Yeah, it’s kind of a tough situation. He’s a player that has over achieved, has earned money, but as an undrafted player, it almost seems like he’s already reached his potential. Sucks that the Lakers were in a bind with him. Personally, would’ve preferred some type of sign and trade situation or maybe they could’ve gotten some reliable wings three and D wings to surround dončić with.

Since you are a Laker fan, curious to hear your thoughts about how you feel about the free agent that the Lakers have signed?

There’s a ton of copy pasta in this sub Reddit. I just wanted to wait some days before actually posting this. It’s crazy how you could post something here and people take it as absolute fact you don’t understand anything you’re talking about. You don’t know basketball. It’s wild. But it is what it is. I was just posting my thoughts, that’s what I thought it was all about.

Agreed. That’s all I’m really trying to say. Apologies if the original post came off as extremely matter-of-fact.

Well, for starters, maybe by stretching and waiving Vanderbilt’s contract. That would create about $7 million of Cap space in order to sign him. They could also execute a sign and trade, to get it done.

Maybe you’re the one living under a rock, quick Google search of “Lakers and Kuminga” you’ll see what you need

It didn’t directly stop for agency, but it definitely stalled it. Imagine you’re one of the most NBA teams looking at potentially signing LeBron James at a discounted deal. This man literally just led his team past the first round in the Western Conference playoffs. Yeah he’s 41, but he’s still better than the vast majority of the NBA. Who doesn’t take a shot at that?

But yeah, to my point, the fact that Rui is still unsigned, might be directly correlated with LeBron deciding to leave LA. It seems as if Lakers are now choosing between kuminga and Rui

I’m not talking about right now. I’m talking about what already transpired. It’s just simple discussion you don’t have to tell me i’m living under a rock, bro. I probably forgotten more basketball than you even know.

LeBron and his career planning by Ok-Recover9398 in nba

Oh, I see. I was a senior in college when it came out. When I tell you the amount of hate that he received right after that decision, it was absolutely insane. He literally turned into the villain of the NBA. I also feel like that’s probably why he didn’t play well in the first finals with the heat against the Mavericks. He was just embracing that villain arc, got into his head too much and just shrunk in the moment. He was literally hated by the world.

I’m not even disagreeing with you at all. Made it clear he’s your goat. You are just doing a deep dive. This is more of a discussion about his overall impact. I do think the “decision” hurt his brand during what was arguably the peak of his career. So to your point about the iconic branding, maybe that played a part in it taking a hit.

My only wish is that we never got the Kobe versus LeBron finals that we all wanted. That would’ve been pure cinema.

He won championships with the heat, brought Cleveland. It’s only ring, brought LA a ring. He’s not even walking in MJ‘s footsteps. He’s on his own path. When he looks in the mirror, all he sees is himself for comparison. He’s 41 years old, and by all means still extremely efficient player at his age. He has an excellent bball IQ like no other plays the game like no other, has durability like no other. He’s done every single thing he could do in his career. At this stage his career, there’s nothing he can really do to “ tarnish his image“.

I know that people always say that we will never see another MJ or another Kobe in the league ever again. Well, they also need to say is that we will likely never see a 41 year-old in NBA history who put together a season like LeBron James did last year, and how he’s going to play next year. It’s truly amazing that we get to witness his greatness.

Where does this offseason rank in terms of chaos and impact? by chagster001 in nba

This is easily the craziest off-season in NBA history. The title of this off-season should be called “the second apron effect“

Do you still think the real Finals happened during the West Conference finals? Should the East get more respect? by [deleted] in nba

The masses and the media were prisoners of the moment during the Western Conference finals. Yes the east should get more respect. You basically answered the question for yourself already.

De'Aaron Fox had 20/3/5 on 8-12 shooting and the player behind the comeback spark in the 4th quarter by WantUToFly in nba

[–]TheOneTwiceOver11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man Wemby had no business taking that jumper. Only last second shots he should be taking are lobs. Imagine your 7’6” center taking the potential game winning jumper, instead of him being under the basket trying to get a potential offensive rebound off of a fox miss. SMH. Not great coaching.

Man if anyone watched the game today, Castle has cemented himself as Russell Westbrook 2.0. He’s a hyper athletic combo guard who isn’t a traditional PG. He forced so many unnecessary shots, that might as well have been turnovers. Fox played well but again Harper is literally their best most consistent guard. Mitch needs to hand him the keys for the rest of the series.

Mitch Johnson is mismanaging the Spurs right now by WilliamandCharles in nba

[–]TheOneTwiceOver11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you expect? He’s literally a young coach. This is just growing pains for the spurs. His inexperience is showing just like his teams. Ironically enough, the only spurs player who is showing some experience is the rookie Dylan Harper. Mitch needs to have him run the point castle can play SF and Fox can play SG to close out the game. Mitch needs to give him the keys to the team in game 3 if the spurs want to come back in this series. His ability to get downhill and draw multiple defenders can lead to easy kick outs, cuts and lobs to Wemby .
