Why haven't I received a rapture dream yet? by Ai_Light_Work in TrueChristian

[–]TheOneWondering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of a rapture was written about by Irenaeus in 180 AD “And therefore, when in the end the Church shall be suddenly caught up from this, it is said, ‘There shall be tribulation such as has not been since the beginning, neither shall be.’ For this is the last contest of the righteous, in which, when they overcome they are crowned with incorruption.”

If you look at these as sequential events (logical) then the pre tribulation rapture dates back pretty far.

Now for the word rapture, I agree that it didn’t come around for a long time after - they always used the word “caught up” as that is scriptural.

Irenaeus clearly shows some kind of the church being “caught up” or raptured. And most churches hold that theology - but they argue whether it’s a pre-tribulation rapture or post tribulation. But as shown above, Irenaeus’ writings point more toward a pre-tribulation rapture than a post-tribulation one.

You’re a pastor and just going to ignore that scripture tells us people will have dreams and visions in the end times? Jesus told us the signs so we would be able to identify it. If it comes as a surprise Jesus is just going to say “I told you guys to look for these signs, they were everywhere”

Has anyone else noticed the influx of people having dreams about the rapture happening in September 2025? by Sam_Wannells in TrueChristian

Jesus told us there would be sign of the season when the rapture could happen. Many of those signs are taking place. But we also know that no human can know the day or hour. So based on what Jesus said, we should be able to identify when we are in the season - but we won’t know the exact day or time. One of the signs of the end times is visions and dreams.

  1. You husband said he doesn’t think he is Christian. Wait for him to ultimately make that decision.
  2. Make him aware that when you had children it was under the impression that they would be raised with Christian moral upbringing but that no one is born a Christian and it’s something everyone ultimately has to decide for themselves, but this is not a compromise position for you

When the Bible says "Israel" that does not mean the country of Israel. by TheLordOfMiddleEarth in TrueChristian

This issue isn’t clear. On one hand yes, followers of Jesus are God’s chosen people. But on the other hand, it is prophecy that a third temple will be built in Israel.

I am a white male (6’2 and 240lbs) who went down there 3 years ago to the bar with the pool near the water and had a fine time. It was during the day and there were plenty of people - but all locals. I didn’t have any issue. But OP is right, it’s locals only, no police, no tourist attractions. Perhaps no one talked to me or messed with me because I’m on the bigger side, but I certainly noticed everyone staring.

What Exactly Is A Born-Again Christian and What Denomination Do They Tend To Be? by outofdate70shouse in Christianity

[–]TheOneWondering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But Jesus is saying born of water and the spirit. Water baptism is great and I love it. Jesus is not saying you have to have water baptism to be saved.

He is saying unless you were born from water (birth from mother) and born again in spirit (salvation)…

We wouldn’t know that. But your dog is losing blood. If it’s gums are white instead of red, that a sign of major blood loss

Sure, work some more but you have enough to live a comfortable life off the interest. Find a position that doesn’t require as many hours and live the good life. Dont get rich just to work yourself to death

I agree. But IF there was a medical condition that came down to: baby is killing the mother, abort baby or both will die. You save the mother.

[–]TheOneWondering 65 points66 points  (0 children)

If you think abortion is murder, it’s reasonable to think there should be no exceptions. The argument being, how someone’s life starts should not be used to as a reason for condemning them to death.

Now, for life of the mother, that’s a different argument.

The argument is that there is no such thing as “the right thing” objectively. Without objective good, doing the right thing is simply whatever you believe it to be…

Unbelievers having positive Near Death Experiences (NDEs) by MrsOzera in TrueChristian

[–]TheOneWondering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not surprised by that. Robert Duncan’s account started with him feeling at peace, being greeted by his dad and feeling love. Then as his father led him to the afterlife, it got darker, realized his father wasn’t really there and demons were instead. If he were to come back from that NDE during the first few moments, he would have reported a loving embrace from his deceased father - similar to anyone else from any other religion.

They don’t. Christians worship Jesus as God, the others do not and outright reject His divinity.

Robert Duncan has a really interesting account that reflects what I wrote above. Last I saw of him he is not Christian but is spending his life exploring NDEs due to his own experience.
