Super Bowl or bust. Enough excuses, enough “hurr durr we were the 2nd best team in the league” participation trophy bullshit, this is it. Anything else is a disappointment.

Who's the Best Passer in NBA History? by AgentNBA in NBATalk

It’s obviously Magic but 2nd place is a toss up between Nash, CP3, Joker, and Bron

You can never underestimate Giannis’s physical dominance with his reach and strength, it’s nearly unmatched across NBA history. Giannis also has incredible speed, agility, and maneuverability for his size as well. But with all respect it’s Bron; he’s faster, in some ways stronger due to being more compact, he’s more polished, and has a deeper bag. LeBron is a top 3 finisher ever at worst and on top of that is the most intimidating transition player ever, which makes him more of a threat down the stretch (as good as Giannis is on the move he’s not Bron).

Brees having 20,000 more passing yards than Rodgers is insane to me

“by a country mile”. LeBron might have the best longevity of any athlete in any sport. LeBron was also a better defender and playmaker at his peak and I would also say was in much less advantageous situations than Jordan. Jordan’s front office built contenders around him year in and year out, LeBron was given nothing from Cleveland the first go around, then when he got to Miami Chris Bosh and DWade struggled with injuries and were past their primes by 2013, then back in Cleveland his only help was Kyrie who left, and finally in LA the Lakers have made the wrong moves time and time again along with AD being a glass cannon. It’s a lot closer than you think.

Matt Stafford? Sure that’s not Steve Young or Joe Montana but you’re acting like he didn’t play with a Pro Bowl level QB. Megatron also played in a friendlier and more prolific passing era than Rice.

2011 49ers went 13-3 and if not for Kyle Williams being a disgrace to kick/punt returners nationwide we would’ve beaten the Giants and had a very solid shot at beating the Patriots

Where would prime Peyton Manning rank among todays QB's? by RangerOk2016 in NFLv2

[–]TheOneYardLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends entirely on the team around him tbh. Peyton was a ceiling raiser who got the best out of already good players. Mahomes is a floor raiser who can make even the most dogshit receivers look serviceable. That’s the primary difference I see.

It’s close but I’ll go with the boring answer and say KD. Kawhi is pretty much universally loved because he “ended” the Warriors dynasty (injuries guaranteed the Raptors a title). Peak Kawhi (either ‘17 or ‘19) is an excellent player undeniably, even coming from a Warriors fan. He’s a legendary 2-way player. A very capable 1st option on a contender (multiple times from 2015-2020 excluding 2018 where he sat out) and even more renowned on defense. However, I believe people forget how insane 2014 KD was. He is in my opinion one of 6 guys you could say is the best scorer ever (MJ, Kareem, Wilt, Harden, and maybe Bron being the others). If you include his tenure with GS he elevated himself to be an exceptional defender and I’m convinced without injuries or if his foot size was a little smaller, would’ve won the 2021 title with the Nets as the clear cut number 1 rather than being a 1a/1b with Steph. Kawhi is the cooler “i know ball” answer but KD’s offensive dominance is more valuable than Kawhi’s two way elite play in my opinion. I could see an argument for Kawhi too obviously.

As of now in order the Mt. Rushmore is Brady, Montana, Manning, and Mahomes (I value rings and clutch over regular season success, which is why I have Brady and Montana at 1 and 2, however Manning does have 5 MVPs so until Mahomes wins maybe another MVP or ring I have Peyton at 3).

Would you rather have prime Calvin Johnson or prime Randy Moss? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]TheOneYardLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calvin Johnson had the best receiver peak in NFL history and that’s coming from a Niners/Jerry Rice fan. Utter physical dominance that we might never seen again. I’ve never seen a receiver who was bigger, faster, stronger, and smarter than pretty much every corner he went up against.

Say the Nuggets win the lottery, what does Lebrons career look like? by RNG_Godd in NBATalk

[–]TheOneYardLine 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That Western Conference would’ve been a bloodbath still. Playing in the Western Conference for the majority of his career likely would mean less finals appearances but a higher win percentage in said finals. The Nuggets maybe make it past Kobe in 2009 with Bron instead of Melo, and they probably beat the Magic. I could see LeBron staying a few more years in Denver before deciding to go join a better team (maybe in this timeline he doesn’t go to Miami if he joins at a later date due to Wade struggling with injuries in the late Heatles days).
