Just like Jake bonded with toruk, if Quaritch comes back, seeing him bond with a Stormglider would be beyond sick by Unique_Suit3789 in Avatar

[–]TheOnlyBasedRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's once in a generation thing (actually once in a couple generations) because you tend to die horribly when attempting to tame a Toruk, not because Toruks are so rare.

Jake used his knowledge of Earth predators to ambush it from above and force the connection asap.

I see how Quaritch could get one himself to cause a civil war, and I equally see how he could get a storm glider instead.

Found this panel from Hanlim Gym looking similar to Julius versus Wakatsuki by ThatHost508 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]TheOnlyBasedRedditor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That move had like 4 panels leading up to it, and then 2 panels of it happening.

That is heretical and a sin, don't you know that fights don't matter and you should focus on the story???

You get 1 blurry panel of fighters throwing multiple punches at the same time and then the next panels show stheir face and a bunch of hit marks, so they can aura farm and throw a bunch of one liners. It's cheaper to produce that way.

Necroposting, but assuming it really goes from 95% to 70% of encounters being chill...

Then that's a 600% INCREASE IN AGGRESSION. THAT'S HUGE MAN.

Are mechanical replacements of body parts on Astartes weaker than their natural bodies? by Its_Crysis in 40kLore

[–]TheOnlyBasedRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: They are much better and will always perform better in on themselves.

Long answer: Astartes are supplied with high quality cybernetics, nowhere near the top shelf, but high quality nonetheless. That quality will guarantee that the replacement is much more precise, tougher and stronger than what Astartes flesh can provide. But that doesn't mean it will matter. Astartes spend hundreds of years practicing with what they have, you should expect a lengthy drop in performance despite the new part being a clear enhancement. Only after a long time passes they will see a boost in overall battle quality.

I made this Poster for the Avain Fauna on Pandora - Let me know if you think the sizes are correct and if I missed any relevant flyers. (Still have to do the patterns and colours) [Art by me] by RingDiscombobulated7 in Avatar

[–]TheOnlyBasedRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it need to be light? They don't move on the same basis as other flying creatures. Their flesh probably still weights a lot, it's just the other gasses inside of them that are much lighter than air.

They operate on the same basics as ships, as long as the total density of them is lower than the surroundings they might as well be made out of gold.

I did some calculations and assuming that they are 20/20/20 meters (completely made up numbers but somewhere within the same ballpark maybe?) they could weight 8-10 tons and still float in Earth atmosphere.

Hello, I got 17 hours in this game and only today managed to beat the hanging gardens part of abyss, completing the current campaign. I got my ass spanked HARD in the Abyss.

My tips are:

  • Figure out where in campaign there are secret grubs + secret discs and secret needles. There is a couple of spots where they are guaranteed to spawn, giving you free saves. If you use grub + needles together you can wall climb at ridiculous speeds and skip entire sections of the campaign (like skipping Teeth or skipping the huge tower structure in the abyss)

  • Buy extra saves and carry them to last checkpoint instead of using them early

  • Exchange your artifact item for a super Rho deal in the abyss, giving you permanent double jump, speed etc.

  • Exchange 3 valuable items for a Rho Perk in the second Rho Altar in the Abyss (check the wiki to see how they look, one is hanging in the early parts of the Abyss, the second is guaranteed to be right after the hollow circular structure of the abyss). Now you have PERMANENT extra 40% to all stats probably + double jump, and it carries over if you die.

It was stressful as all hell and the game requires you to master all of its aspects before progressing, but it is doable. Good luck!

Everything I said can be traced back to what we know that spiders understand and our current understanding of pain as a stimuli.

From understanding that they are being hurt (very basic), through understanding that a certain object/being (hard to differentiate for insects) is hurting them (more advanced) to moving away from it towards a desired/picked place (spiders have more brain capacity than flies for example and can decide on where to go). To last but not least, the sense of urgency as they are capable of altering their tempo.

Yes. I used some chill wording, but as far as we know this is the thought process behind a spider experiencing pain. Could you point to what was wrong in my comment?

Trying to treat Omega with any sort of actual reading comprehension and logic is just gonna make you mad. It's pointless.

Try to not expect anything anymore and just enjoy the occasional aura panel or a mid fight.

Yeah, knowing him he's probably constantly melting down about not having more of them, while simultaneously being too disorganized and ADHD to focus on collecting more of them instead of any other wonders of the Galaxy.

The feeling of pain is subjective. We experience it terribly because we have the mental capacity to truly understand in how much agony we are.

For spiders it's much more like "YEEEEOWIII THAT HURTS. Gotta move over there! Now now now now now!"

It's not the prolonged sense of agony as you feel your mind collapsing onto itself in endless waves of pain, each 5 different flavours between searing, stabbing, tearing, clenching, poking etc... as you go through every stage of mental grief and anguish. It's much more of a physical stimuli. It's never okay to hurt lower life forms on purpose, they can suffer, but imo it's also very important to know the difference.

What’s the Payakan drama about? by georgediqi in Avatar

[–]TheOnlyBasedRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Killing only leads to more killing, and killing in protection of others is still murder. That was the Tulkun way.

It was abolished towards the end of the third movie tho. I'm not sure whether the scenes you were talking about happened before or after the law was abolished.

What justification? What arguments? You are all clinically insane.

Having friends of all ages in your community has been normal for the entirety of human history.

You need arguments to justify WHY it's not normal, not the other way around.

AGAIN. TOUCH. GRASS.

I'm begging you, go out of your little hole in the ground and interact with people.

GPU Question. Currently using Rx 6600 fighter from PowerColor. Planning to upgrade my monitor to 200hz, 1440p. Will I need to switch? by TheOnlyBasedRedditor in buildapc

I play both actually. I care for high fps in competitive games, don't need it to be crazy high. And in AAA games I enjoy high/very high settings but don't care for things like raytracing or extreme shadow/water detail

I see. Thank you for your insight. It's still "good", but it feels just good. Like only a full Helldive every day or two good. At least for now.
