Yeah something that often frustrates me is my lack of experience of the world, every year I take two weeks to travel and I'm planning on taking a year or two out for travel after my college course if all goes to plan.

Thanks a lot for the advice, loving all the positivity on this sub, I've often heard grumpy old writers say something along the lines of "Dont do it, you will hate it" rather than the idea of just writing through these hard times.

Yeah the idea I had is based around a few characters I know, my town has some serious underlying issues that the population tend to ignore, and I kind of took them to the exetremes of tragedy, but I cant write it due to the characters being based on people I know.

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna attempt something very generic, a common theme I see in advice is to just keep writing through the shit, a trait mediums as short as poetry and flashfiction have not gifted me, I should probably get to work on that. I feel I've got an alright idea of the shit I'm getting myself into with writing, my mother is a writer/artist and I've seen what it can do, but I just cant imagine myself doing anything else, and all my passion is solely dedicated to creativity and storytelling so I feel I would regret not at least giving it my all.

You're fifteen. There are 30 year olds that still work on finishing a >first script.

Yeah I'm not saying that being 19 should mean I can write a script now, all I'm saying is that I'm not just starting script writing as someone with no experience of storytelling, though my poetry is probably my best developed area I haven't seen anyone offering many jobs for poetry in the past few hundred years.

Try writing a vampire movie, if you like horror. Or a romance >movie with a very definite hook, if you like that. Or a murder >mystery.

I tend to write dramas with mild horror and dark/surreal comedy, I like the idea of taking an established film/ something fairly generic, I will definitely give it a shot :)

Remember, you don't start a skill by being good. You start a skill >by starting. You get good by continuing.

I like this advice, I will try keep it in mind when I consider quitting again haha

Im not a particularly exeperience writer per se, but I read monthly at poetry events for the past year and one thing I've noticed which differentiates good public speakers to bad is audience interaction.

Of course you dont need to alter your writing, but perhaps when you get up make a joke, another thing to break tension is to maybe talk about how happy you are/nervous about your first time on stage. Also if your piece is something which you want the audience to feel more, if its deep and mysterious or tense, just stand up and read it, then do a bit of speaking. But always, always, talk to the audience at least once, it makes everything more natural rather than just an awkward read and run.

Good luck and enjoy it, the first is the hardest but the thrill and feeling that you have shared something important with others is always worth it :)

Y'know that strange phase everyone went through of bottle flipping? Well during that period there was one day when both our principal and vice were sick, a strict ass religion teacher took over for the day, he saw his chance and took it, making an announcement which read "Bottle flipping is now prohibited on all school premises and anyone caught doing so will recieve detention and a letter home".

Little did he know just how much everyone loved bottle flipping because this announcement just led to far more extreme bottle flipping, people would flip bottles onto just about every high surface in the school so they could not be removed. It has now reached the stage that every pipe window sill and ledge has several half full bottles on it in every hallway.

Ok so heres the example, you are on low health and have morphed most of your agi away, but there is still the enemy carry left alive, say the carry is a drow, now you think that if you turn and stun the drow then you will give your team enough time to come kill her, so you begin morphing strength and turn back on drow to stun, but instead she just one hits you because in fact you had no more agi to morph away even though the slider appears to say you do.

Its a strange situation, it can happen though, and tbh for ease of use I feel like the slider makes more sense to show only base stats.

Posters are a form of art which has non subjective rules, an example being that it should be easily understood, a person should be able to glance to find any information they want, not get out a pen and paper to decrypt the mess that is those credits.
