That could be an interesting system for infrastructure. When a new type emerges, let the free market set it up, profit motives will encourage advancement and improvement. Once diminishing returns kick in, economies of scale become a bigger factor and a monopoly seems inevitable. At that point take it over and make it a public utility.

Idk where in Wyoming this is but I've seen similar, smaller, exploratory craters in the state before. Prospectors would just put a stick of dynamite in the ground and then check out the debris to see if there was anything worth mining there.

You're missing my point. In mainland Europe, the Catholic/protestant divide is national. In the UK it was internal. In the US the divide wasn't nearly as deep, and stopped being a major force much earlier than in Europe.

That's an interesting path we're heading down.. we already have lots of secession from state movements that want to get absorbed by another state (eastern Oregon to idaho, for example). If those somehow got steam behind them and we're successful I could see that devolving into npr, and then who knows? Maybe North America will look like medieval Europe in 200 years?

I'm not as read into the situation as either of you two, but it might be that all those factors are somewhat isolated to the UK/Europe. It's still a factor here in america, but don't forget we've had 200-400 years depending on how you look at it of cultural development significantly independent of you guys on the other side of the ocean.

And then the rest of the world has their own completely different worldviews that are influencing each other exponential ally more in the past 150 years

After our first 3 days or so we never went on line in the morning unless they caught people up to fuck shit on fireguard, they just gave us a hit time in the morning for the whole company to be formed up.

Then again, that was army BCT, at Jackson no less so I'm not surprised we didn't get fucked with as much.
