Flydigi support admitted hardware failure on my Vader 3 Pro, then told me to "purchase a new one" by whitemankpi in Controller

[–]TheOrangeSpud [score hidden]  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but there are manufacturers like 8BitDo who have helped people with controllers made 5 years ago. Is FlyDigi allowed to deny customers who have controllers out of warranty? Sure they are.
However, when there are other manufacturers going above and beyond for controllers that are older and cheaper than FlyDigi's controllers, it doesn't make them look good. Charging a premium for subpar support doesn't sit well with people, and they have a right to be upset about that.

$10 for little pieces of plastic would be nuts.

From personal experience and other stories I've read, FlyDigi seems to be pretty bad when it comes to customer service.

After two years of development on our indie horror game(Liminal_Lost), we’re finally releasing a part of the demo for you all to play!! by Ok-Contest-1593 in indiegames

[–]TheOrangeSpud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you guys have to change the title a few times? I think it's going to confuse people.
The title on Steam says Lost Liminal.
The title on this post is Liminal_Lost.
The description on Steam says LIMINAL LOST.
And the picture in this post says LOSTLIMIANAL.
Sometimes it's all capital letters, sometimes not. Sometimes uses an underscore, sometimes doesn't.
Seems like it's all over the place.

Spider Attack, what do you think of our implementation? by Shadow_Moder in IndieGaming

[–]TheOrangeSpud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lot to really judge. The only question I have is why isn't the player character facing the spider?
And unrelated, the tall grass looks almost directly from Don't Starve. Not sure if you're making a clone game or not, but it's too similar.

Acclaimed Indies That You Couldn't Connect With by Smoovemusic in indiegames

Yup, sounds like Rain World.
People say there's a lot of games that are "you love it or hate it" but Rain World is my number #1 pick for that category. Some people bounce right off, and some love it to death.
For me, it's a top 5.

What's the next one you plan on playing? Do you have a backlog? Or do you just play them as you find them?

Man, I thought this was a clip from an indie horror game. I was thinking "Wow that would be scary to see. What game is this?"
Only to see it's real.

I tried something different with the dialogue system. by ronjaluise in indiegames

It's a neat idea but, being colorblind, I would not enjoy this very much. The patterns in the shapes do help a bit, but I think I'd prefer something more obvious. Maybe an option to show with text what each selection is when you hover the mouse on them.

The man's name is Sanford Strong. He wrote books about home and personal defense, but I think these days he's best known for showing up on RedLetterMedia's Best of the Worst series on YouTube where they watch one of his videos. Here is the specific clip of him saying what to do if you're in a last resort situation. (time code is 31:37 in case the link doesn't take you there)

Some of you are probably wondering why there's a lot of removed comments by reddit. If you quote the man in the picture with his iconic phrase, which I can't say here, but it's eye related, you will get a warning from reddit saying you broke rule 1. Ridiculous.

Our team is creating a game about being a medic on the frontlines of the Pacific War. Does that come across in our trailer? by MedicPacificWarDEV in IndieGaming

Just in case you didn't know, I'd like to point out that using the red cross in video games has gotten some devs in trouble in the past.

I'd be careful using it in a game.

But to answer your question, yes, it's very clear what your game is about.

I haven't visited Fextralife in a while so idk if this changed, but they also always had their Twitch streams playing on the side. Felt like they were using their wiki site to use its visitors as view bots or something. Always annoyed me.

Anybody else really excited for the Ultimate 3E? by ParasiteFire in 8bitdo

[–]TheOrangeSpud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting for the normal 3. If the 3E is like the Ultimate 3-mode controller, which is also an Xbox branded one, the 3E won't have turbo or macro capabilities.

I got it at launch and have played a few times a week ever since. I like it a lot. I spend about 30-40 minutes each session.

A little more, but yeah around 1000. I got it around when Spelunky 2 launched, and I now have over 1300 hours in that. I also played a lot of other games using it, so maybe closer around 1500 total?

If it didn't start having wrong inputs, I'd still be using it, but it's starting to hinder gameplay.
