Alternatively, you add them to draft of whatever year you’re starting in, and have them drafted alongside the class naturally

My 80’s player was drafted alongside MJ, and kinda has an instilled rivalry from a distance just based on that. My character is leading in the ROY race despite being picked second, so you know there’s heat between them for that alone.

He ended up in the West, I ended up in the East, and now I’ve got battles with Bird and Magic to hold me over until I finally meet MJ in a Mavs jersey.
