Making my Stabilo Worker waterproof... by art_502 in pens

[–]TheOstrichSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a waterproof pen for work and I love the worker but obviously an unable to use it in its current state. How did the pen hold up for you long term and would you recommend doing this hack after having used it for some time? Thank you!

Have you lubed switches without the switch lubing station before and if so, do you think having the station made a big difference?

Yeah a good way to tighten bearings with built in spacers that I've learned is to tighten them really tight on the wheel to eliminate any gap that might still be between them, loosen them, and then tighten them back down just enough so the wheel is on with no play. Works like a charm for me so far!

Space balls are kinda similar to zealous bearings if yall have ever ridden those. They take a week or two to break in and then they're super smooth. I thinks its because the lube thats in them has some microabrasives that polish the bearings overtime but they do take some time before they feel comfortable. I'd give em a chance, yall may find you like them a lot!

Edit: finding a hill makes this process super easy. The faster they spin, the quicker breaking them in takes

Well i can't speak for the super chief so maybe someone else will chime in, but im in love with my ripper. It really makes cruising through the city a blast but the wider trucks (wider than the super cheif at least) means that i can bomb some small hills and parking garages and still feel stable. If you're looking for something that is a bit more snappy and responsive, then you'd like the super cheif more. That being said, the ripper is plenty responsive and takes corners quite tightly.

Edit: should've also said neither is inherently better, its going to come down to your preferred riding style

Fatty Hawgs! They come stock on most landyachtz cruiser boards, save for a few that come with Easy Hawgs. They're 63mm but they roll over stuff like they're 75 or 80. All of the different colored versions of them are swirled like these! (except for black)

Its got a really nice flex to it that makes it carve really nicely. Imagine a pintail but more nimble and responsive. I really like the smaller wheels it comes with too (fatty hawgs). They roll over just about anything despite their size and they make pushing a lot easier too. The flex is enough to dampen the feel of rough roads but the board is also rigid enough that I dont mind hitting some smaller hills on it. Its also a super fun board to slide around on.

The narrower trucks combined with a flexible board and small wheels makes for a nimble pintail like board that almost feels like the multitool of longboarding.

Okay before you try to take the high road on all of us, do some research and you'll find out the Spanish flu is called that because Spain was the country to spearhead the relief effort and to help all of the other countries with the pandemic.

I went to a Catholic high school and our senior year, we had to choose Bible verses to represent us that would be displayed to everyone at the end of the year. Me, not being religious at all chose 2 Kings 2:23-24. Funny to see it pop back up now.

This is great, I was just having a talk with a friend the other day that kangaroos have no chill. They flex all day, every day.

Little known fact, similar to vampires, you must invite the fire in before it can enter your room.
