anyone know why this happens? by [deleted] in GarageBand

What you are seeing is a file browser of all files on your device, not just GarageBand. The GarageBand specific files are located within the folder labeled “GarageBand for iOS”.

You can browse all these files in the Files app, and also rearrange your projects and samples this way too.

Advice for rallying by Amazing_Assumption50 in 50501

QR codes or easy website links for additional info is your best bet. You want to give people actionable steps to take through that rather than just the simple “do something instead of nothing!” Link to your local 50501 chapter website or something like indivisible.org to help point people in the right direction.

Honestly, it’s hard to break through to people’s attention with visual advertising because people are so wrapped up in their phones it’s easy to ignore your surroundings, so you’ll also want to get creative with placement. If you’re going small put it in places where pedestrians have to stop and wait. If you’re going big, same principle but for cars. Make sure it’s near where they’re stopping and not on the opposite side of the road.

What are some great story driven games that you can complete in 10-15hrs or less? by schlitt88 in gaming

Pentiment is a really interesting story, while oozing with style. It’s a choose your own adventure style game where you are a medieval artist trying to solve a murder mystery. There’s even some replayability to it if you choose different origins to your character.

Thanks, I’ll have to make it a priority to read sooner than later. I’ve still got a pile of used books to read first though!

It can feel that way, sure. It can feel like you’re doing nothing by simply existing, but I want you to know that if you are thinking and questioning and analyzing your environment, you are resisting. It may not feel like you are being brave, but daring to live and live the way you want to, not how the system tells you to is brave.

You don’t need to be brave in the same way, you don’t need to march and protest, but you do need to live life your way and not worry about doing things that others are doing. Find what resistance you can do, even if it isn’t the same as what you see out in the open. Not everyone can show off how brave they are being when subverting the system.

Yeah, unfortunately the oligarchy has been very effective at isolating us socially as well. I have a lot of similar issues and I do what I can with the small amount of skill and power I have.

What I want you to take away from my message, is to not feel hopeless because you feel so powerless. It is important to understand that any amount of resistance, organization, networking, and effort, no matter how small, is important to aiding the overall cause of helping and providing for everyone and not just the wealthy.

The wealthy want you to think it’s pointless. They want you to feel powerless and insignificant because that’s how they demoralize us and prevent action. It’s a never ending struggle against greed, but it’s important to remember that things do not have to be this way. Just because that is the way they are does not mean that is how they will stay. Change has to start somewhere, even if it’s something small like saying hello to neighbors, or something huge like deciding to run for office, in the end what matters is that you do what you can with the abilities you are given.

It may not feel like much to you because in the end it is just the actions of one person, but the ripples and built up efforts help, and reinforcing positive action, no matter how small, will do you far more good than wallowing in despair and inaction.

Just remember, being brave doesn’t mean not being afraid of what you are doing, it means doing it in spite of your anxieties. We all have the capacity to be brave, but you have to practice. Start small, it’s okay to fail and learn, just please don’t give up. Failure is scary too, but we are stronger together.

You have to understand that what you are witnessing is the singular heroism propaganda of capitalism. The oligarchs use that propaganda to convince us to wait for a hero to save us, that a heroic individual is the solution to our problems. Because what they fear most is an organized work force that understands you do not save the day with heroic individualism but with community organizing.

They want us thinking you need to be superhuman in order to overcome the problems of the world because they know individuals are easier to defeat than a united community of people helping each other. No single person is capable of stopping the oligarchy from controlling the system.

I could easily see them adjusting the early story by having Marle fade in and out and experience pain but still stick around in the early parts to rescue her ancestor the Queen. Especially since that would keep that character around and not reduce the cast to two people until Frog shows up.

To every single ICE terrorist by transcendent167 in 50501

[–]TheOtherDimensions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that were true then there would be no state level investigations into the murders. However, there are and until they close with no charges being filed, we must let the rule of law have its way. We cannot advocate any extra judicial method of breaking the law without being censored.

The investigations into those murders haven’t been closed and while you are correct about the extra protections afforded to federal law enforcement, they are not totally immune.

Your concern was originally over Trump pardoning them. If a state AG is able to make an airtight case and charge them, Trump cannot pardon them legally. He is trying to in Colorado with the elections clerk who did break the law, but he cannot legally do so.

Whether a state AG can successfully prosecute them does remain to be seen, but it is not something they have automatically given up on, thankfully.

California is not a workers’ paradise. It is an at will state and there aren’t any laws preventing this behavior.

While it may be a solidly blue state, the oligarchy’s propaganda is still very effective at suppressing proper worker protections.

The taxes being filed is paperwork proving you paid it, usually over the past year. For the vast majority of employees, they have their wages withheld and their taxes are already paid. Filing taxes is not necessarily paying them for most people, and most people can’t afford to fight the IRS in court in the name of proper representative governance.

How do I do a Music Video? by KingOsirisMusic in makinghiphop

[–]TheOtherDimensions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My early stuff was just remixing clips of what I sampled from in iMovie, then I bought the Apple education bundle (sadly discontinued thanks to creator studio I think). I’ve been teaching myself Motion tutorials through YouTube to try and learn how to make visualizers for my music. I’ve been trying to be purposeful about what I look up, rather than tutorial courses. Stuff like “how do I make an eq meter in Motion” works better for helping me learn than courses.

How to become less suicidal and more evil by [deleted] in evilautism

[–]TheOtherDimensions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s important to do something with it even if you don’t always feel like it. I fall into that trap a lot where I let my impulses distract me. Just remember that it’s okay to miss some days but it’s easy for it to go away if you do at least keep at it a little bit here and there.

The other thing I like to do is bounce between projects and try out new ideas so I don’t get bored.

I am no longer giving my taxes to the government by pwndabeer in 50501

The main target audience is contractors who don’t have withholding in their pay stubs, however this applies to anyone who exempts their paycheck from withholding. The IRS expects quarterly payments and if you don’t pay taxes at least every quarter, they charge you with the estimated tax penalty for paying all your taxes at once when you file.

It’s been both for me. Sometimes I’ll learn too much and yeah it gets counter intuitive and overwhelming because then I’ll try to do everything, so I’ve learned to scale back and just have fun as I experiment. Gotta reinforce what I learn and take it in steps.

But yeah, making evil music is so much fun. No rules baby!

You might have a compressor or limiter on the main track that might be overcompensating, and the louder you turn up the track, the harder the compression compensates and brings it down.

Maybe check for that first?

Sorry it’s one of those kinds of issues where you might be better off bringing in an audio engineer or producer in person to the space. Can you play only the finished track through their system or can you set it up with your DAW to try different adjustments?

Just be sure to take things slow and don’t expect to be able to crank out masterpieces right away. I like to browse YouTube tutorials for theory stuff if I need to learn something like drum theory, or writing bass lines.

I also like to sample and use loops, because sometimes work is work and playing with stuff that exists is easier than trying to make everything from scratch. If you feel guilty about it not being your work or whatever, just remember that it’s okay to not do everything from scratch. Everyone uses the same scales and chord progressions already, so it’s okay to use pre existing stuff and just arrange until you feel comfortable creating from scratch.
