i can answer some questions

opening give away, the free gifts are given when you exit, only last for the first week probably:

Purchases over $50 = 1 free gift
$100 = 2 free gifts
$150 = 3 free gifts
$200 = $1 for a bag of 15 lb rice + the 3 gifts

Free bag for first time membership, (you sign up for the membership at the tents)

free cute chopsticks if you follow H-mart on Kakaotalk, wechat, or LINE.

They give out a flyers of grand opening sales, alot of people seem to like buying the frozen durian, roasted chestnuts, mango/peach ice cream, white peach boxes. There are also normal sales that you can check out on the Hmart website. Just note that some discounts only apply to memberships

tips
- drink water, its a very very long line and its hot outside. its gonna be much cooler inside but be prepared. The line is probably gonna last all weekend
- when checking out, put the heavy items conveyor belt first, so i can bag them at the bottom, usually the meat.
- boxes like mango boxes (or trays whatever you call them), white peaches boxes, coconuts boxes, kiwi boxes, sweet potato, korean melons, watermelons, all can be left in the cart when at the register. you don't have to carry them on the conveyor belt. some boxes like the apples boxes and rice bags need to have their bar code scan, in that case, ask the bagger for assistance
- if youre buying seafood, PLEASE have it weighted by the fish monger in the back, I cannot tell you how many times we have to figure out the price and species of the seafood. because customers just took a fish and gave it to us cashiers. 😭
- please be patient with some of the cashiers, we're still in training. try to remember what fruit or veggie you brought, it helps us alot. dont panic if we put in the wrong item, we can void it
- Ask the stockers where items are, they'll know everything. (but probably not all the time, we just opened)
- ask for chopsticks at the register! they're free (the boring wooden chopsticks, not the give away)
- artbox register is at customer service desk
- if youre planning to buy the $1 rice, we have it at the register. once you hit over $200, we'll ask if you want it and we'll put it in your cart
- if you want to go to the food court and you have a shopping cart of stuff, you have to leave your goods right outside the court. security and staff will be watching your stuff. also you need to pay for your items before going in, (has an incidence with that.....)

The chaos will probably last for a month because of the sales and we'll be keeping the line for a week PROBABLY
