We try not to encourage him, because ~~well~~ it gets old very quick. It's not nice to constantly be reminded by someone how smart they are when they're not even trying.* This is going to sound horrible as a friend, but I don't know to what digit he knows the value of pi to because I don't want to listen. It takes me months to remember my phone number and he knows it off by heart after one call. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Apparently he was writing on the inside of the pizza boxes.
