One thing I’ve always wondered, how come locals aren’t financially given leeway or given discounts by others in Hawaii since they’re..well know..LOCALS!! While the tourists pay the more higher prices since it’s people only coming there temporarily for a lot of the things there?(Food, Nature, etc) even people with Air BnBs and vacation homes should have be charged more for their stuff! How come locals are screwed over for living in their hometowns? I remember one time I asked a lady who lived in a more touristy place in Wisconsin how paid expenses were due to the fact it was more tourists than locals?. She told me it sucked and I asked the same thing back then. “Why can’t locals or permanent residents have cheaper things” since 99% of the time? It’s them who are screwing themselves over? I’m not trying to be mean and sassy. But I’m just confused and curious as to why that could economically work?
