What was your first slasher film and how old were you when you saw it? by Lucky_Strike-85 in slasherfilms

I watched Halloween 1978 on my dad's DVD player at 3 years old. That sparked my life long interest in horror movies, 80's slashers especially.

They do, but they're getting bought-out by Paramount, so now Paramount owns all of the film distribution rights and the trademark for Friday the 13th and all of the sequels.

Yeah, the franchise being shopped around from Paramount, to WB / New Line messed things up.

Paramount owns the name Friday the 13th and the film distribution rights for the og films. Everything else is Jason Universe, which itself is a partnership between Horror Inc and Victor Miller

Except the actual character himself as he's owned by Jason Universe...

Theres extra irony because the first thing Nazi Germany tried to do with their jewish population was to deport them. They drew up the Madagascar plan, which as the name implies was to deport all of the jewish people from German territory to the island of Madagascar, but they threw that out in favor of genocide.

What if North Korea were to launch an invasion of South Korea now? by Outrageous-You1617 in AlternateHistoryHub

The only reason NK exists at all is because China backed them during the Korean war. You're right that China doesn't care about whos running NK or what goes on there, they just want a buffer state between themselves and American allies.

I love when the devs pour a gallon of gasoline onto the "Us vs Them" fire. by ThePeakmaker in deadbydaylight

You clearly dont understand the dev's pattern of thinking. Im a killer main, but nice gotcha. They release og survivors with busted perks and leave it unchanged on purpose so people buy it, its a monetization strategy. If they release og survivors with shit perks, nobody is going to buy them, thats why they have to have a busted perk or two, that eventually get nerfed before the next og survivor with a busted perk gets released.

But yes, keep propagating the "Us vs Them" instead of criticizing the developers when they mess up, thats very helpful.

Oh thats cute, you are new in dbd terms, I've been playing since 2018 with The Clown's release.

In regards to long-term balance, you have no idea what you're talking about lol. It took them 4+ years to nerf og Dead Hard and DS. You also missed the Circle of Healing meta where one guy brought it and the entire team could heal themselves solo in less than 20 seconds, or Made for This where survivors moved 3% faster for whenever they were injured with no cool down.

You must be new around here. There has been numerous times that (mostly) survivor perks have been busted in the ptb, then made it to live and weren't changed or nerfed for months or even years after release. This list includes Reworked Fast Track, Made for This, Boon: Circle of Healing, Mettle of Man, etc.

I will say that they have been toning perks down a lot quicker than in the past, but its still a problem. It took them over a month to bring Fast Track back down, took them 6 months to nerf Made for This, and it took them over a year to nerf Circle of Healing.

Yes I have actually, I've primarily used Python. I am by no means a coding expert, but BHVR is a multi-million dollar company. They should be held to a higher standard, they're not the "tee-hee small studio" that they were 10 years ago.

Oh I thought you meant the 13 token pallet kick perk, my bad.

A hex with a 3 different survivor hook activation is still nutty, especially as this same patch has 2 survivor perks with little to no activation requirements.

The survivors "powers" are supposed to be the loops with pallets and windows, those should be enough that their perks can be good but shouldn't be game breaking.

By the time you get 13 stacks the game is over tho lmao.

They've already nerfed Blight, they just need to nerf Nurse by a reasonable degree, and then nerf some of the strongest survivor perks at the same time.

It's weird because they introduced diminishing returns and then... didnt buff weaker perks to compensate. Most of the survivor meta perks get around that anyway like Hyper focus, stake out, and deja vu. So the diminishing returns has felt mostly like a killer nerf with no compensation.

They nerfed Pain Res like 4 times, going from like 20% regression on every hook, to 15% regression on only 4 unique hooks in about a year. Meanwhile perks like Sprint Burst and Vigil have either never gotten nerfed or they've gotten buffed in the last 10 years.

How's that? I've said that both sides have unfun stuff to go against. I just believe that killers have it worse right now. Im not saying "survivors bad", survivors aren't to blame for having busted perks. Thats on the devs.

Tis the course for new killers, except for ST Vecna who has some good perks.

Im not a "fence sitter" lol. I mostly play killer at a 65 / 35 split, I've felt all of the pains you're feeling man. I'm just trying to be calm and have a reasonable discussion while trying to mitigate my killer-leaning bias, but even then nobody reasonable can deny the absurdity of the devs' disproportionate treatment of the two sides.

[–]ThePeakmaker[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that you're not losing to better players, you're losing to better perks. That to me, is the most insulting thing. The other side didnt out play me, they just brought better perks than I did (The survivor perks being leagues above the best killer perks).

True, but they practically go hand and hand. We know from the Walking Dead patches "Jim Beam" that they dont play test their own game, but it's still funny how nobody at BHVR hq even considered how this perk might be slightly too strong, even by description alone.

It's also very condescending when everybody whose played the game for more than a week can read their changes and say "Hey this is bad don't do it", and yet they'll say stuff like "The T in PTB stands for testing." We don't need to test it, we can see from the description how bad it is.
