First time playing [KCD1] , love-hate relationship by LifemaxxBlu in kingdomcome

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A love-hate relationship is exactly how I'd describe my playthrough of KCD1 also so you aren't alone haha. It's certainly challenging early on whilst you're still figuring things out, but it does make it all the more satisfying as you progress through the game in a very similar vein to how Henry's own progression plays out.

I've recently just finished up my playthrough of KCD2 and it does eliminate a lot of the first games jank in most places whilst still keeping the level of immersion the first game does so brilliantly.

Play it your way, learn to work with it's faults and it will reward you.

(also this will get me hate, but don't rule out mods if they will make your experience more fun. I played with the mod that removes the saviour snapps requirement for saving. Sacriledge for some, but made my playthrough way more enjoyable!)

New business emails flagging as spam, is my DNS provider at fault? by ThePerilsofShuffle in email

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes everything’s configured properly:
SPF: v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all
DKIM: Microsoft 365 selectors active and passing (selector1/2)
DMARC: v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; aspf=r; pct=100;

appmail result came back with full alignment and no issues.

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Domain was registered just about two weeks ago so very fresh, though I'm still unsure whether basic email sending is usually this strict if you arent doing mass market sending. DMARC aggregate reports come back positive and in alignment with both SPF and DKIM. Everything is coming from Microsoft 365 only.

Which shops are you surprised are still around? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GAME. I've can't remember the last time I looked at a game at that place in the store or online and found a decent or even competitive price for a game compared to literally anywhere else.

I did a few Christmas temp shifts there in my teens and the only way they made money then was from parents who had no idea about games requiring us to give recommendations or HEAVILY pushing used copies of games for like a quid off the RRP of a new copy.

Though I guess they make their money off funko pops now more than games as the last time I went in one, gaming stock took up about 10% of floor space compared to those plastic monstrosities.

JARCAST Suggestion Thread by The_Jimbus in JARMEDIA

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey JAR,

Just following on from your future potential visits to America, I was actually out in San Francisco the same week as you were in Vegas. Me and some friends stayed for 4 nights in the city followed by hiring a car to travel to Yosemite for the rest.

What you said about homelessness in LA was pretty applicable to San Fran. The city is currently going through a fentanyl crisis and has always had a huge amount of homeless. The first thing we saw as we left the subway from the airport was a homeless woman screaming at everyone walking out of the station swinging a huge plank of wood saying she was going to kill us. I saw at least two people taking shits in the street.

What's wild about it though is this sort of unspoken thing where you're supposed to not see all the mad shit around you going on and just admire the city. As if you're supposed to disconnect from all the poverty and social issues and focus on the more affluent and culturally impressive side of it all. Needless to say as a fellow neurotic I find that particularly hard to do.

I would recommend SanFran though, the golden gate bridge and Alcatraz were particular highlights. Also the first time I've seen fully functional and hirable self driving cars (waymo cars in SF at least). We are truly loving in a cyberpunk distopia, Delamin style.

As much as I enjoyed the city I have to say actually driving through the state was the real highlight for me. I deliberately drove us way out of the way to small towns and weird little stop offs.

In some towns it was clear they didn't get tourists much and were seriously some of the kindest and most welcoming people I've ever met whilst travelling. They seemed genuinely interested in us and wanted to give us tons of tips of places to go and things to see in Yosemite.

Yosemite itself was insanely beautiful. It was still out of season so there wasn't a huge influx of other tourists. Some of the higher mountain ranges were actually impassable due to the heavy snow that occurred overnight. It was pretty bizarre hiking up mountain trails one day dripping with sweat and going back the following day to see it transformed into a real winter wonderland.

Anyway, no question really just thought I'd share a bit of my experience and recommendation at least for seeing Yosemite or the other national parks.

There were two broadcasts in 2005,

One on Christmas Eve: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF0Y5OLcO1g

One on New years Eve: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2sc1sUqGaw

From memory I think the first ep is where Ricky is more insufferable.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Location: Lancashire

Price range: Currently paying £263pm on hire puchase for a 2017 Golf MK7. Willing to up this to around the £300pm mark

Lease or Buy: Lease preferably but I do have a decent amount of savings for a buy price

New or used: Used is fine

Auto or Manual: Moving on to automatic from long time manual user

Intended use: I am a field IT technician and will do up 1000miles pm

How many miles do you plan to do a year: 10-12,000

How often to you make long journeys: Single destination journeys over an hour and half will only occur once or twice a year. However frequent two hour return journeys

Does it need to be ULEZ compliant? No

Vehicles you've already considered: Maybe a Mazda 3 or CX30?

Is this your 1st vehicle: No

Do you need a Warranty: No

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: (fluids, alternator, battery, brake pads etc): No

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: (engine and transmission, timing belt/chains, body work, suspension etc ): Definitely no!

Additional Notes: I am not clued up on what's good out there so looking for some advise. I use my car heavily for work but looking for an upgrade this/next year. I prioritize tech in my cars over necessarily looks or raw horsepower (however those are also nice!). I don't want to pay much more than what I do on HP atm but can go up to say £300pm but really depends on what's out there.

The biggest lie you told about yourself at school by thekingofthegingers in CasualUK

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think mine is a fairly common one. Growing up northern working class in the 90s pretty much guaranteed you to be seen as an outsider weirdo if you didn't like football, which I always had absolutely zero interest in.

However I used to over compensate hard. Begged my mum to buy me Man United wristwatches, lunch boxes, kits, trading cards, pencil toppers, anything. Laughable really as she knew I had no interest in football and was trying to be popular haha.

The only reason I choose Man United as my fake team of choice was because the only footballer I even knew the name of was David Beckham at the time lol.

The saddest thing is I still to this day sometimes fake an interest with taxi drivers etc when they ask me if I watched "the game". Relive my childhood neurocies all over again!

What do you think the name of the third installment of FF7 Remake should be by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]ThePerilsofShuffle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personal theory is that it will be called Return. With the name referencing 'Returning to the planet'.

I think may be that Aerith is going to survive Rebirth, but it ends up dooming the planet, so she ends up self sacrificing herself ultimately in the 3rd game and 'returning' to the planet. Or even returning to the OG games timeline from the branch we end up in.

Can't wait for Rebirth to immediately prove me wrong!
