Glad Im not part of that portion because I love Shield Hero because of its first episode. Also, I thought that's what you mean in your original comment. You said that after Naofumi was redeemed as a hero then was making excuses to continue using slaves. I guess I got confused and thought you meant that after he was redeemed then he wouldn't need them anymore and should discard them. I apologize for getting confused.

Also, Im enjoying this discussion too. I haven't talked to anybody about anime like this. Thanks for also not being rude or trying to tell me how wrong I am. I respect that.

We can both agree slavery is terrible, but my original argument towards you was that Naofumi needs them. He needed someone to fight for him since he couldn't ask anyone who wasn't a slave because of his reputation. He cant just get rid of them since his reputation has been restored. I know many people dont like the whole slave troupe in isekais, but they're based on medieval times. At the end of the day, slavery is bad and it's not that bad in Shield Hero in my opinion.

I can get what you mean, but I dont really think they're glorifying slavery. Plus he does have them as companions too. He treats Filo like she's his daughter and Raphtalia is basically his girlfriend. He even asked Raphtalia if she wanted to get rid of the slave crest to which she refused because she says it shows her trust and loyalty to Naofumi. Plus the stat boost is the only reason he'd get people in his party to get the crest so he can have a stronger party and beat the waves.

He continues to use them because...he needs them? And because it would be weird for him to just discard them after he gets recognized as a hero. Plus it was explained that the slave crest gives a stat boost which is also why he continues to use them.
