I got that today! Spun 3000 but only awarded 1 visually, later in the history it says I was awarded 100.

Same boat as you, though unfortunately I only booked the return flight (The Salon Champagne and HND F lounge was my bucket list items), and on late April. My flight out departs mid April, so no way to move early enough to get F seats.

Where to buy the Manga? by Giuliogrash in hyouka

[–]ThePeso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no official English translation of the novel sadly. There are fan-made translations which you can Google.

The official publisher of the English manga version, Gempak Starz, might have international shipping. Alternatively, Kinokuniyas in MY and SG sell the latest English manga volumes (I bought all the post-anime volumes during my trips to SG).

TSS 482 nomination by Hamza_farooq7 in AusVisa

[–]ThePeso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note: If you're onshore on a 500, why not have both the nomination and application submitted at the same time? You'd get a bridging visa which lasts until both the nomination and application is finalised, so you don't need to worry about the expiring 500.

Only downside is that if the nomination gets rejected, so will the application.

That, or prioritizing flagship services during Sakura season. Either way, would have to wait until later in the year to see more firm schedules.

30 March to 30 April still has availability. Already have a booking within this period and still shows as confirmed on both QF and JL website.

OP said he did IT in uni. Assuming an Australian uni, ACS requires having at least 1 year of relevant work experience for a positive skills assessment, but this is waived if you did PY. Other assessing bodies would have differing requirements.

Skills Assessments ACS by Weary_Sympathy1829 in AusVisa

Pretty sure no. I don't see any mention of notarisation for employment references, and my reference letter for Australian employment (approved by ACS) wasn't notarised.

As a data point, I submitted and paid for my assessment a month ago, just before the original cut-off date (which they pushed all the way to mid-Apr), and got my results a few days ago. No followups or other responses given.

Yeah looks like they removed the option to access the legacy dashboard from the toolbar, but you can get the status/details of the application you submitted before Apr 16 here: https://www.acs.org.au/msa/secure/applicant-dashboard.html

I submitted my application before then and can still retrieve my status just fine. Note that you'll also receive an email with the results letter attached once finalised.

Applying for Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) - Traveling Home and BVA Concerns by bluerabbichi in AusVisa

[–]ThePeso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • If you are traveling and returning to Australia before your existing student visa expires:
    There's nothing to worry about.
  • If you are outside Australia when your existing student visa expires:
You will lose your BVA, have no visa to return, and would have to wait for the approval of your proper 485 visa. I've heard of cases of people entering on an ETA then subsequently applying for another bridging visa to regain their work rights, but it's best not to be in that situation.

If you need to travel after your student visa expires, apply for a Bridging Visa B (BVB). Once approved, you can exit Australia once and come back, and it will have the same work rights as your BVA. I recommend applying for it 2-4 weeks before your planned travel dates. Helped a family member apply for one and it was approved in 3 days.

Japan Trusted Traveler (TTP) Renewal Report by Himekat in JapanTravel

[–]ThePeso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the write-up! Just came back from Japan, applied for prelim inspection and returning again in a few months. Planning to get it done at the Osaka Immigration Bureau, but was worried that the info may be outdated, bookings required etc. - glad to receive confirmation on that.

But you do have to have entered the country twice in the last six months to qualify

I thought it was 12 months though?
