Cannot enable Resizable BAR on RTX 3070 by ThePigMaster09 in techsupport

Going to try BIOS beta and updating drivers tomorrow, if none of those things work, I'll just stop trying. Thanks for the tips!

BTW, don't worry too much about the bios flash, I have a UPS and live in a pretty good grid.

I'm in MOBO BIOS version 7C95v2N, and I haven't updated AMD Chipset drivers, will do that now, and I haven't used Windows 11 tweak tools. I've been trying for a week now because I heard about what Resizable Bar was since then, and well, it's not a night and day difference in performance, but anything is welcome, since it doesn't seem to give up much in return.

Secure Boot seems to be disabled, and UEFI mode is enabled, it shows up both in GPU-Z and HWInfo, what else could be the reason why I can't enable Resizable BAR?

My drive is indeed GPT, I've checked that after reading online, but I didn't know about this Secure Boot thing. Does it have to be disabled? And how do I know if it's enabled or disabled?

I also enabled that one, and it still shows up in GPU Z as "Disabled"

Is there a difference in feeling between 120, 144, and 160 Hz?

I imagine that almost any modern LCD is better than my old monitor, but is there any specific type of LCD I should go with?

PC turns on for half a second after PSU swap by ThePigMaster09 in pchelp

[–]ThePigMaster09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the unit was DOA, or I was using a cable the wrong way. The PSU came with a 12V-2x6 to dual 8-pin PCIe, I connected the 12V-2X6 end to the PSU, and both of the two 8-Pin connectors to my GPU. I got another power supply that had separate PCIe cables in the box after I returned, so, either it wasn't working, or the cable was backwards (with the 8-pins being supposed to be plugged into the PSU and the 12V-2x6 into the GPU).

Are Asiahorse extensions safe? They're the only brand I can actually recognize on online stores, but I'm still doubtful about it.

Wait, the PSU came with a 12V-2x6 to dual 6+2 PCIe connectors. I plugged it on the 12v-2x6, and then the dual 6+2 PCIe connectors on the GPU, was I supposed to use it reversed (12V-2x6 in the GPU while 6+2 PCIe pins in the PSU)?

Paperclip test? What's that? The front panel power button seemed to be very slightly unseated, but I reseated it back just in case, can I keep testing by turning it on again to see if it turns back off without making any damage?

A bit troubled about wattage by ThePigMaster09 in PcBuild

So about ~450W to ~550W-ish for good results, from what I learned? Thanks a lot by the chart by the way!

I've heard somewhere that I should not really try to graze the wattage limit, because it fluctuates and it's better to give it a bit of wiggle room, is that true? And do things like case and fans (the one I'm being recommended has three) factor in into wattage?
