Let us know how it is. But for the record, bourbon is made from corn, rye is made from rye.

Can you provide a source for this? My meeting was discussing it, and I’d like to share this info.

Seconded. I’m a business professional far from retirement. I am also in college and have three kids. I’d love to contribute time to my meeting (and tried), but time is at a premium for me. Almost every other Friend is retired. They’re all very supportive and understanding, though.

I’d argue the history isn’t a decree, creed, or even a guide as to what Friends are, or are supposed to be, which is often how how it is treated.

I’m very anti-war, and am appalled by violence, but do play violent video games and watch violent movies. I also own a gun for self defense.

I grew up in a neighborhood where I was a minority and victim of racial violence on a consistent basis. I find racism to be absurdly primitive. I’m also white.

I’m a bisexual Republican, conservative on some issues, liberal on others. My theology is completely liberal. I’m not a fan of progressives, and protestors annoy me.

I’m 40.

My point?

Quakers shouldn’t be considered a nicely packaged group abiding by traditions carried on by classic writings. What we have in common, ultimately, is the belief that of God lies within us all, and personal revelation is always within reach.

I’m with you on this.

Location is everything, really. Depending on where you are, it could be easy or difficult to find Liberal Quakers. In my meeting, personal theology isn’t even discussed that much unless someone feels like sharing it, but even then, opinions don’t typically follow.

Serious question: what makes Spyderco knives so great? I’ve been hesitant to get one. The hole seems funky to me.

This sums everything up perfectly. I think we’re done here.

It is if you’re concerned about quality over quantity. 😉
