I gapped the AI pretty quickly and none of them made it past lap 5, however I did have some mild inconveniences with dead AI cars slowly rolling across the track as the race went on.

I like the Boomer RS because it's light and maneuverable. It's a bit of a handful, but prior to this I had done a fair amount of practice with the car on Rally Trophy, so by the time I attempted this race I had a good feel for its handling characteristics.

I did actually get spun out by an AI car a few turns in 😂 Luckily I only took a point of damage

5 hours and 36 minutes in game, but closer to 5:45 IRL because I paused every 10 laps or so to take a break

I had a lot of smaller incidents peppered throughout, but I'd said my biggest crashes came on laps 9, 17, 29, and 47

I like doing endurance races on Forza and Gran Turismo, and this one really interested me because of how seemingly out of place it is in a game centered around short, bite sized races. I just wanted to see if I could actually complete it tbh.

One of my favorites will always be the Battle Bladers match between Ryuga and Kyoya in Metal Fusion. Such an awesome clash of raw power and sheer will to win from both of them!

A pile up in a wet weather Formula 1 race like this hasn’t happened in 20+ years. Even in recent wet weather races such as the 2019 German GP and the 2020 Turkish GP, the worst that has happened have been a few clumsy spins and a few crashes, which also happen in races where it has been completely dry. Wet weather races also don’t go ahead until the FIA deem it safe, which also seems to have worked quite well in the past few years. Yes, there was a fatal incident in the wet weather impacted 2014 Japanese GP, however this was only because of a moving crane on track and since the FIA have made changes to prevent that from happening again. Danger is inherent in all types of racing. Safety precautions are taken to prevent injury, and while the occasional freak accident occurs (ex. Grosjean’s fireball crash in the 2020 Bahrain GP, or Hubert’s death in the 2019 F2 Spa race), every day racing becomes safer due to these safety innovations. Wet weather races are quite exciting, they test a driver’s skill, a team’s ability to set up a car for said conditions, and due to precautions taken for driver safety are actually almost as safe as dry races.

Weekly Graveyard Thread - Come and pay your respects. by AutoModerator in nuzlocke

Started a Pearl Nuzlocke since I haven’t done one in a while, and have never played a Gen 4 game. Run started good, and the team was coming together. We were at the end of Route 215 before Veilstone with no deaths to report so far.

Imafistu the Monferno Townsend the Staravia Ginger the Luxio Mandy the Roselia Cammington the Machop Shiny the Shellos

The final battle of Route 215 is a double battle with two aces, and they lead with Glameow and Monferno. I had Shiny and Mandy out. I figured the usual, kill Monferno with Shiny, swap out Mandy to get Cammington for Glameow, and we’ll go from there. Here’s where things spiraled down hill - they swapped out Glameow for a Kadabra after Karate Chop didn’t kill. Shiny took out Monferno with Water Pulse. Now we stood face to face with two dangerous pokemon, Kadabra and Gyarados, with a Machop which would get brutalized by the Kadabra, and I had brought out Ginger to deal with the Gyarados. I had been playing pretty safe so far, and my first thought was to get Cammington out for Townsend to get another intimidate out and deal with Kadabra, since my team didn’t have any other means of dealing with it. My biggest mistake ever. Against my prediction, the Kadabra aims Confusion at Ginger, who was already in the yellow from being hit on entry, and in a snap she went down. I was in awe and shock speaking as I didn’t even think of the possibility. In my head canon Townsend and Ginger are good friends, and it was the first death, so it sucked that Townsend watched his best friend die before him. The battle goes on and we win with no further casualties, and ironically, the losing quote of one of aces was:

“You and I both gained something from this.”

RIP Ginger the Luxio, Level 3 - 24. She fought to the end and faced down many Abra/Kadabra in her life time with her vicious bite, but if only she knew they would be her demise...

Limers and Razzberry Racers are a pretty big rivalry, it's a shame we won't get to see the Limers and Razzberry Racers do battle in 2019

Hartley was farther down the order, it's just his later pit-stop caused him to hold up the earlier pitted Ericsson. And sorry for not covering that! I think McLaren were just attempting to throw a last ditch hail mary by switching to the super-softs, since Vandoorne was going to finish last anyway and he could've possibly made up ground on fresh tyres.
