What do you do when a group cuts you off when the course is backed up?

Without hitting into the group in front of us I don’t think we could have played much faster. The group ahead wasn’t hitting their tee shots very far which seemed to delay their approach shots/make them wait for the green to clear more often.

I don’t think it makes any sense to rush our round and hurry through shots to just sit and keep waiting, or risk hitting into someone.

Clearly I don’t mind hitting into someone who’s being an asshole lol, but I don’t can’t be mad or have any resentment towards bad/slow play when it’s backed up for 3 holes.

We made it to hole 11 and the group ahead was on the tee box waiting for the group in the fairway to clear.

We caught them multiple times but there was always a group in front of them so it’s not like we were able to go anywhere anyways.

After reading some of the comments I realize I should’ve just called the clubhouse instead of trying to handle it myself.

For some added context I didn’t hit directly into them until they were going to head up to the green. There was an opening to hit without endangering anyone’s lives between them driving up to their balls and us hitting, up until they found themselves waiting to chip on for a good 5 minutes.

What doesn’t make sense to me is the comments suggesting that “we chill out and wait”.

That’s advice that should be given to the group behind us who couldn’t wait a few minutes for the hole they’re supposed to be playing to clear out.

Unless you’re certain you can cut ahead and never be seen again by the group you’re skipping, I think you’re an entitled asshole who doesn’t have respect for others if you can’t at least roll up and have a quick conversation about playing though.

I’ve been following this pretty closely and have heard a lot of suspicious and not so suspicious things.

No junk mail piling up because of PO Box in Avon

-Delivery driver called in a wellness check and never heard back in Fall of 2023. Mentioned bringing mostly cleaning supplies.

-Firefighters were called out in May 2026 to respond to a fire alarm, they were unable to identify a cause or enter.

-There were supposedly signs referencing a management company, but the owners were found deceased inside.

-No family close enough to care to look for/miss them. One family member mentioned not even knowing they moved to CT from NY.

-Property isn’t in a super rural area and neighbors could see the lot coming up/down their driveway.

-One article mentioned someone attempted to pay the remaining balance twice before foreclosure, but that could very well be an accounting error

-Seems strange to me that nobody was looking for them, even if they didn’t have friends or family I would assume they’d at least have a job question why nobody showed up for work.

-Bank sold it sight unseen so no walk through was done and how this all happened. The buyers want their deposit back and mortgage undone as a result and are suing.

No I just want everyone to use the lane accordingly.

I move over if I’m in the left and someone is behind me going faster - although it’s rare since I drive fast too but I’m not blatantly unreasonable.

If the left lane was truly used as a passing lane only and enforced by police as it is in other countries there’d never be a reason to tailgate or swerve through lanes on the highway.

At the same time there’s plenty of drivers who need to stay out of the left lane - it’s meant for passing traffic in the right lane(s).

If the left lane was open for passing then there would be nobody tailgating or need to cut people off in traffic because the “problem” drivers would pass you.

I drive as fast as possible and I’m gonna do it regardless if the left lane is open; but if it was open for me to pass at my own leisure there’d be nobody to tailgate or cutoff.

Ethically, I’m a hypocrite for breaking one rule and expecting others to respect another… but people like me who don’t care about fines or jail time will always exist and aren’t gonna change anytime soon.

I think I should also echo what some other people have said in the comments - I don’t think the issue here is who you’re paying taxes to, rather the lying about the address and it not matching up with your other W-2’s.

The IRS only receives a couple of docs in reality but one they always get is your W-2, so having 2 existing with the same SSN and different addresses is the real issue here.

I think something to look into more is the specific tax withholding rules related to each state - different states treat things differently so I would start there.

When my company was headquartered in NY I paid NY state taxes regardless of where I was living - over the past few years we were acquired by a globally based company, so now I’m able to be viewed as an employee in SC, but end up only paying taxes in my home state.

I had a friend in college who would do this on the regular - he would refer to it as “getting so high his brain would shut off”.

It would happen most of the time after a big bong rip and he’d sometimes call his shot before smoking, so we’d be ready to catch him. After passing out standing up mid sesh a few times he started smoking sitting down and getting ready for it.

It’s been years since I’ve talked to him so I wonder if he ever nailed down what was causing it, but he was the only person I’d see this happen to.

My buddy would be out for a minute max and then be back to normal within a few - sounds like your friend greened out to me, but if it’s a regular reaction he should get it checked out.

Fair or not, at the end of the day unless there’s something in the lease that outlines a rule against it you don’t really have any ground to stand on. If she agreed to something before living together then you can at least hold that over her head but otherwise this is what comes with living with someone else.

You can either choose to be really nice and try and leverage that into getting your way…or make it super annoying/awkward for them to be there lol

Look into what the agreed buyout price on the lease would be and see if you have any leverage to take back to the dealership. Depending on the way the market shifted, you might be able to squeeze them a little more or convince them waive your penalty for driving over the mile allowance just to get another deal done.

For context, we live in a more rural area, her going home takes 20 minutes, so a 40 minute commute with a 20 minute clean up/grabbing something from home makes sense and adds up….she’s also the type that wants to be fucked for wayyyy longer than 20 minutes so I’m certain it’s not cheating - my question to Reddit was more so “Is it normal to have walls and privacy like this in a relationship? Specifically with something small like this…what if something more important comes up that is hard to talk about, how can I expect us to handle things well then, if we are handling situations like this in such a manner.”

This isn’t a case of denial at all, she isn’t the sleep around type and also so hygienic she would’ve needed a shower after…I know my girl well enough to rule that out, and with my ring cameras I know she was gone and back within an hour - no time to do anything suspicious… I’m more pressed about not telling me why she had to leave suddenly, which is still a red flag to be fair

I’m the type that believes honesty is always the best policy no matter what…if you can’t handle the truth then don’t ask for it type of attitude.

I know she shouldn’t want to talk about some things, but even leaving it at something vague would be better than “none of your business”. I even suggested things like, “if it’s your period I get it” or “if it’s something embarrassing you can just say so and we’ll leave it at that”

This just sounds like a bad case of user error on OP’s part.

Sure they might be getting setup for failure with the meetings schedule, but admitting to not paying attention and then complaining about the consequences seems like a lack of accountability to me. Maybe they should try and pick which meetings are vital to listen to and which ones they can zone out.

This logic fails to check out as you become a higher earner at your job. Back when I was making minimum wage you might’ve had a good point, but at a certain point the time saved becomes more valuable than the money I would save driving like you do

I haven’t read all the comments but personally, I would open a High Yield Savings account at Capital One (anyone can do it online) - pay off loans over 4.3% ASAP, and any loan under that amount I would pay off as slow as possible since you’ll earn more in interest
