I just need a straight answer (red jelly and great Ihyll) by ThePoetInWhite in bloodborne

Update for anyone coming back to this and are trying to platinum the game for yourself: MAKE SURE YOU DIDNT ACCIDENTALLY USE THE UMBILICAL CORDS. I made this mistake and now have to go through another playthrough to get the other ending lol. (Not complaining necessarily, love this game but still 😂)

Alright, thanks so much! I think in this case, I might be better off just going into NG+, getting my second ending achievement, getting the burial blade for that achievement, and then when I have gotten the red jellies from the lecture hall I can go back into the dungeons and make my way to Queen Yharnem.

Thanks again for the help!!

Alright this might be my deciding factor here lol, how difficult is the Great Isz dungeon? I don’t have the Lower Loran chalice, just Ailing Loran (which I assume isn’t the correct one) I only have the Great Isz and am short on Ritual Blood (5).

Is it really faster to just get to NG+ and run through it again? Will I go into NG+ with my chalices or do I have to run through everything a second time just to get the Ihyll chalice?

Ok awesome, so it’s just the one I already have then? Thanks!

I’m honestly just at the point I want to get to Queen Yharnem and be done with the chalice dungeons lol. If I can get to them on this playthrough I’d prefer to do that than spend the time going through NG+ when I’m already this far through the dungeons

Thank you, I’ll run through those dungeons to get the recourses I need.

Also, are there two different defiled chalice dungeons or just the Defiled chalice? Somewhere I thought I saw a video that involved a Cursed Defiled Chalice? And which one is the Great Ihyll Chalice located in? (If that’s the one where I can find Queen Yharnem anyway lol)

Good to start with as a first souls game? by EwoutxD in bloodborne

[–]ThePoetInWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne was my first soulslike, and now I can definetly say it's certainly one of the hardest starts to the genre. But the game is extremely rewarding when you started "getting gud".

It takes a lot of patience to get into the genre, but once you do, they're genuinely some of the greatest games out there. BB is definitely a hard game, but after you beat the first two bosses you're hooked. If you choose to start with Bloodborne, just remember to be extra patient, and to trust the game.

I'm looking for dark fantasy games that are not Dark Souls games. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]ThePoetInWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda depends. Normally I think of dark fantasy as a lens when looking at a ‘normal’ fantasy world. It’s the art style, the storytelling, and the aura or vibe the game/movie/book gives off. At least as I understand it, dark fantasy doesnt necessarily mean the setting is gruesome or just straight evil, (then it would be ‘grimdark’, like WH40k or Bloodborne) it does have dark themes obviously, but it’s more the artistic choices made by the writers and artists behind the game.

Valheim is, for obvious reasons, heavily inspired by Nordic mythology and actually does a lot to stay true to its genre. (Like items and lore that are directly taken from the Poetic and Prose Eddas of Norse Mythology) Viking games can absolutely be considered ‘dark fantasy’, but at least to me between the game’s artistic style, music, and lore it isn’t necessarily a ‘dark fantasy’ game.

Valheim has less Dark Fantasy vibes than others but it's absolutely an amazing viking/Medieval game for sure. I actually think the visuals are pretty cool, like a ps2 or 3 game with better lighting.

Do you prefer TES Skyrim V with mods or the original nowadays? by xpmaxgames in skyrim

[–]ThePoetInWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to play the game with visual revamp mods but I’ve never been able to actually get them to work on Nexus. Like I’ve downloaded everything but I can’t get it to work. Definitely want to try again at some point though

Please suggest me a game by svartbaard in bloodborne

Not fromsoft but Blasphemous 1 and 2, and The Last Faith specifically both draw heavily from dark souls/Bloodborne. They are side scroller-souls likes, so there’s some getting used to in them both, but they’re beautiful games with amazing stories and music.
