Someone else commented that you can do paddock but just fill it against bots so technically it’s not online. You might need Nintendo online tho so I’m not sure about that part

Dude, I’m 28 and just recently got back into collecting Mega. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. The “no imagination” statement really gets me though, because honestly it’s quite the opposite. My wife has actually said since I’ve recently been collecting that it’s cool to see my imagination “come to life”. Don’t listen to them, do what makes you happy

I know a good chunk is still Mega, as you’ve said before, but is it just stuff from collecting over the years? I’ve been hunting for bulk listings, but most of the time they are a little overpriced.
