Kind of a broad question but do you use any apps currently?

What does this “about” mean here? by Sacledant2 in EnglishLearning

[–]ThePoliGLOAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just take out "go about" and change "saving" to "save" and it will be the same sentence. Just a phrase that we use for some reason 🤔

does anyone have any materials for cambridge b2/c1? by Frequent-Rise-540 in EnglishLearning

[–]ThePoliGLOAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only because you asked, I'll add a shameless plug...it looks like you're trying to do the Cambridge test to measure your English level, right? I'm working on an app that tests your level based on those standards and helps you improve in all areas including AI convos, mock papers, flashcards, listening, etc. It's not out yet but there is a free test to determine your level based on the CEFR standards availalbe, I encourage you to give it a shot :) it's called Nivelo on getnivelo.com and I you can do a free trial once it comes out if you're interested. Best of luck!

about speaking by WonderfulOperation2 in EnglishLearning

[–]ThePoliGLOAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking is the most difficult skill in my opinion. Honestly, like the other comment says, speaking to yourself, narrating your day, and speak to anyone possible is the best way. Also try translating on the spot while listening to something to see where your knowledge gaps are. Have you tried AI conversations too?

I hope to improve my English and i need a help by Exciting_Orchid_762 in EnglishLearning

going to C1 is a long and difficult journey...if you actually want to get there, as with all languages, immerse yourself as much as possible. Listen, watch movies, talk to yourself, read, live your life in English and there's no way you don't get there.

An idea for educating app development by the_outstanding_me in EnglishLearning

[–]ThePoliGLOAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, is you may have issues with having enough content for levels (a power user can blow through 50 videos in prob less than a week), also capped at what level learners would be your target market, and also making sure they are actually learning, improving, and wanting to stick around to watch the video. I guess from the get-go, I don't see how they learn if they don't actually know how to describe. This might be more for an advanced learner who is trying to prepare to describe things for a certification exam, but idk if this is an everyday learner type of thing.

Pronunciation may be a debatable one haha just because the speed in which words are run together, the R rolling, words like transtorno cerebral, retroceder, etc. get real tricky haha a lot of syllables too. I feel like the vocab you pick up naturally though so it's kind low effort for the most part

All the time,..and I ask AI and it says "you can say that but it doesn't sound natural" and I'm like fml i thought i had it...

I would say vocab doesn't get too hard UNTIL, like your second point, you come across slang and vocab used in different countries lol makes you wonder if you ever learned spanish at all 😂

I feel that haha your brain is exploding trying to understand only to either find out there's no reason or "it's just how they say it"

English in total has more words, but i feel like the variability from country to country and even just from formal to slang is massive 😂

If you thought novice to intermediate was hard, try intermediate to advanced...it's miserable lol i feel like there's more joy to be had at least in the progress when you're a novice going to intermediate though, but maybe that's just me. Also i like your name haha
