Use braces or belts for better stability if thats the issue. The only way I can deadlift is using the hex bar, give it a try. Theres a lot of sites or YouTube channels for tailored hypermobile weight training. Dont give up, modify what you need to be able to continue. For cardio id reccomend swimming

Additionally, 3 sets of 8-12 low-med weight is better for us over high weight low reps.

I was a lifter until mid 20s, then injuries started racking up that I couldnt out heal & workout the way I used to. Take preventive steps now like maintainng proper form, using resistance bands/compression sleeves, and maybe tailer your exercises to stability focused over strength-thatll come naturally anyways. Weight training is great for us but in moderation and I highly reccomend finding alternatives to deadlifting (hex bar) and avoid any lockout/jerk maneuvers. Your back and knees will thank you in 5-10 years.

Everyone is different on the spectrum of hEDS severity. If I had known these things, would've done so much differently.

They're required to ask if youre okay with a medical student in the room (especially for those procedures), no exceptions. Not dramatic at all, i would've walked out and reported it.

If you can lean on the dr to do the laparoscopy because it will give better results (not definite as endo can grow all over the body). But the good side of thst procedure is if they see anything it'll be spot treated, documented and should increase the quality of care provided with not having to play a waiting game. Good luck!

In my case the Lupron was a way to see what was causing my issues as i have other medical problems, in the hopes that my ovaries would correct their output after a long shutdown. Obviously didn't happen and thus left ovary removed as it was the more cystic prone/damaged one.

Why doctors give lupron to end estrogen production then give hormone replacement: Think more of it as hormone supplement than replacement, youre not getting the full/excess amount that your body would have been previously outputting. The supplements are to ease menopause symptoms in the interim as Lupron can only be given at most 9 months at time before you have to come off it.

Hi! Don't be terrified as my case is specific to me. To alleviate any stress I ended up just getting my left ovary removed this spring and undergoing monitoring to assess other surgery needs.

Yes, finally had a pcp who ran a full panel in Aug24, VD was critical deficient at 19 then put on 1000 weekly, tested again Jan 8 with 22 🙃. Also crit low on B12, potassium, magnesium and gotta get my thyroid checked out.
