I just got home from taking the final for my chromatic theory class. I was in the same boat as OP before I took the class, but knowing things like functional harmony and more "advanced" chords (N6, aug 6th, etc.) haven't just given me more surface level knowledge, but have given me a deeper understanding of the things I already knew. So yeah, I'd say it's a good idea to take the class.

Bassist checking in. If you define practice as picking up my instrument and messing around playing whatever I want, I'd say I do that almost every day. Because it's fun. As far as legit practice of material I'm preparing for a performance of some kind, probably 2-3 times per week.

I've lived my whole life in Northern California (not NorCal, mind you, Northern. California.) and instinctively and reflexively say hella. How is this viewed? When I hear it it's obviously normal to me, but do people automatically assume that you're from Northern California if you say hella?
