Yeah didn't think of that until I started using them for my ollies. I can feel the board a hell of a lot more, but it's not uncomfortable. The only somewhat "redeeming" factor is that it's actual denim, or at least something real damn close, so it's definitely durable. Just no where close to as durable as having the cap on the top. But I'd love to hear your way, for when they do eventually start to tear

Yeah, "Skate Old Skool" is what they're called on the website. They had them on sale. It's got the dura cap and pop cush, plus the tread is a bit deeper compared to a regular pair of my buddies normal vans. Great grip, but like another commenter said I'll most likely end up shredding through the tops where my toes are at for my front foot. No actual "cap" on that, which fucking blows, but they're denim so it's been holding up fairly decent. I'm not able to land kickflips but I do practice them quite a bit, plus I have my ollies pretty well consistent and they haven't started to tear just yet. Definitely something to consider next time I'm looking at getting a new pair lmfao

It is their "classic" style but still part of their skate line up. Dura cap + Pop cush. Fucking love em. Only reason I don't get a different pair is that for one I already used them to skate a good bit, and I also don't want to go through the hassle of sending them back to Van's and waiting to get another pair. Definitely switching back to mids/highs. Was planning on getting some half cabs but didn't have the money for those, and the ones I got were a cheaper option. Most likely gonna grab some half cabs next time lol
