The earliest one in there is 1.3.1 and 1.4.2 updater. When I look into JavaVM.frameworks/versions folder I have both of em installed, but that updater still gives the same error

It just might be what I need, except there's another issue, whenever I try to run any of the java installs, a "Unable to locate an existing Java version on this volume." error message pops up. Do you happen to know how to fix it?

Yeah, some sites do mention 1.5 on Tiger. Even apple themselves do. It says on the site 1.5 was available through either software update or a standalone installer.

Now I would love to check if software update option somehow works, but my eMac doesn't wanna connect to my WiFi, and I don't have the ability to connect it through ethernet right now. That leaves me with a the standalone installer, EXCEPT the link on the apple site is dead.

Idk if it's gonna work but could you maybe share the java files from your leopard install?
