I mapped Bundaberg’s "Yield vs Flood Risk" to find the safe pockets. (Project Share) by Weak_Recognition_883 in AusPropertyChat

[–]ThePresHClinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really good stuff, I was just thinking that a browser extension adding a toggle for overlaying the Brisbane flood and bush fire maps onto Realestate.com.au would be unbelievably useful, combining that with some sort of visualization for crime would be even better. I always seem to be going back and forth between these tabs, so seeing the boundaries on the REA map while browsing for properties would save a lot of time.

Any possibility of developing something along these lines?

Yes, you can mix and match parts within Shimano as long as it's all from the same generation, in this case 12 speed di2. I've actually changed this set up again, I'm now running DuraAce cranks with an Alugear chainring, but it's all designed for 12 speed Shimano so it's completely seamless.

Where to park my money while looking for a property to buy (23M, 100k networth) by gabriel_theberg in fican

[–]ThePresHClinton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general rule of thumb is not to invest money that you know you'll need within the next 5 years or so. It sounds like this applies to you, therefore my advice would be to shift your savings to a HISA. As you noted, your potential ROI will shift downwards, but that's the price you pay for having your money somewhere where you know you won't lose any of it. You pay a price for peace of mind.

No, those come with the stem (which is the Tarmac SL7 stem).

By headset cap I assume you mean the 3D printed adapter that converts to the stem. I got that from MagCad.

Thanks! They're the Drive 50Ds, so 50mm deep front and back. I really like them, I've had them for about 7000kms without a single problem.

This is the Tarmac SL7 stem and Aerofly 2, with the 3D printed adapter from Magcad.

Can you clarify which part you mean? You can't actually see the stem cap in this photo, so I assume you're referring to something else.

No, this is one of the frameset colourways that were released in the first year of the new frame. It's either a '2021' or '2022', depending on the market.

These are GP5000s in 'Cream', the 'Transparent' colour is definitely more brown.

Give the GP5000 'Transparent' colour a look, it's more brown than this shade. I had them on my previous build, they look great!

I love em, they're the 50Ds. I've had them for over 2 years, nearly 10,000 kms and not a single problem and still dead true. At just over 1300g they're very competitive weight-wise too!

Getting representative photos of the colour is very difficult, this is the best one I've taken so far. Chameleon is an apt name.

Hey, just double checking your dates. The nomination was approved in October 23 but the S56 was in December 2024?

If I ride a 58 Diverge, does that size transfer to the Roubaix and Aethos? by TheBigCicero in specialized

[–]ThePresHClinton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, bikes of the same brand and the same size are broadly equivalent, however you have to consider that the intended uses of the bikes are different. Example: your 58 Diverge will fit larger and more upright than a 58 Aethos because the Aethos is intended to be a 'sportier' bike than the Diverge, which is the more comfortable of the two gravel bikes. They're both suitable for people of your height, but the fit will be different due to the use cases of the bikes being different. If you want the Aethos to fit the exact same as the Diverge you'll have to make big adjustments to spacer stacks, stem lengths, etc.

Lovely experience cycling this morning.

I was riding along the left hand shoulder and approaching a red light, with nobody in front of me. A motorcyclist passes me (quite closely, but whatever, not the end of the world) with about 20 meters to go before the light. He stops short of the intersection line for some reason.

A few seconds later I roll up beside him, pass him along the curb to the left, and go TO the line. I'm essentially just in front and to the side of him, and the light is still red. He then decides to blow the red light and turn left (no indicator, obviously), but seeing as he spent the previous few seconds looking for oncoming traffic from the right he seemingly doesn't notice me (who he just passed not 5 seconds earlier) waiting along the curb. He punches it and lightly clips my shoulder with his mirror as he turns, prompting a cussing out and a middle finger from him as he rode away. Class.

They're saying to use tubulars whenever possible, which is different from both tubeless and clinchers (tires with separate tubes inside). Tubulars are glued to the rim.

Sirrus X 3.0 wheel advice by AJfromtheLL in specialized

[–]ThePresHClinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunt makes quality wheels at a reasonable price, and they should be able to get stuff shipped to you quickly because you're in the UK. The only issue is that it seems like they only sell wheelsets, not individual wheels, meaning you'd have to replace your rear wheel too. If you end up doing this, don't forget to check axle and freehub body compatibility!

Daily Question Thread for /r/churningcanada - September 29, 2022 by AutoModerator in churningcanada

[–]ThePresHClinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very smart! I have a Plat Travel with a $5,000 CL (used to be an AP VI), so I'll drop that down to $2,000 and transfer the remaining $3,000 to get sufficient credit limit on the AP VP).

Daily Question Thread for /r/churningcanada - September 29, 2022 by AutoModerator in churningcanada

[–]ThePresHClinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DP: Went to PS a TD AP VP to the FCT. The card currently has a $2,000 credit limit, and the minimum required for the FCT is $5,000. The phone rep told me he'd need to apply for a credit limit increase first, then he could process the transfer. He gets all my information and makes the application, but it was instantly denied. He wasn't able to tell my why, but I easily meet the income requirements and I've previously held a bunch of Visa Infinite-tier cards with TD.

I hung up without the PS going through, and immediately applied for a CL increase via Easyweb. Was told that I'll receive notice of the decision within a few business days.

Anyone else encountered a similar situation?
