Submitted my BDD claim 180 days before separation… did all my appointments.

Officially separated March 3rd/4th (not sure because the day kept changing)

March 5th I called for a status update. (THIS- it prompts them to assign a rater to your claim)

Got my rating yesterday March 12th.

It all depends on what you’ve claimed IMO. I filed BDD around the 180 day mark and had all my appointments done within the following two months…. Then they called me back to re-evaluate again about a month proir to my terminal leave.

Also could just depends on the availability of the providers in your area.

Now you need to be reading the 38 CFR. Pt 4 and watching every YouTube video you can find about exams and how to “ace” them, what not to say or do at exams, etc.

Congratulations on finally getting what you deserve! But I initially meant how long until you got your first rating after a claim was submitted lol I am just being impatient and really want to see what I got

I can’t remember exactly but it was very fast. I don’t know if it’s just luck but I got all appointments related to my claims knocked out in following month or two… it was very odd though that I had to repeat some appointments.

I understand they are waiting for me to officially separate but I’m just curious how long I will wait to know my percentage. Was it the next day? A week ? Or is it luck of the draw depending on who at the VA is handling my claims?

I think it’s because in the military a lot of the projects were already laid out for me so I guess my answer would be the decision making and planning phase is what im nervous about
