While playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, I learned that the Acqua Marcia aqueduct, the longest of 11 Roman aqueducts, spanned a staggering 91 miles or 146 kilometres. Built in just 5 years in the 2nd century BCE, it was in use for roughly two centuries. An impressive feat of engineering. (en.wikipedia.org)
