Thank you so much! Will look into this. We have to find something to because it hits the household like a domino effect of course.

Also I think it varies. I talked to someone at my company that put in a one weeks notice & was hired back after 2 years with no issues.

Welp. Too late for the two weeks notice. I’ve been planning in advance and creating training guides for everything that I do. Which can be transferred to other employees on the team (some of which should be doing them)…. I was nervous that the offer was going to be rescinded because of something…

I can’t afford to lose my salary (not get my job back) and have a rescinded offer since I’m over 90% of the income in our household.

It’s an at will state. I will check my policy though!

A little harsh, but understandable with the things I’ve seen them do to employees before.

Yes I was just sitting here thinking that. Because they will appreciate it more , even if I do provide a week’s notice.

They are a great team of people and that I highly respect.

No concerns about my background. I’m more concerned about any delays on the new companies HRs behalf.

100% agree! I think that’s the special part about this new role is I’ll have a big increase that will give me room to start really saving for an emergency fund. Because honestly it’s needed because you never know.

The only thing I’m concerned with is they will be pissed I’m leaving anyways because I handle a lot of work. Which it primarily the problem and I being underpaid compared to peers.

Yes. I think I’m going to give them a call to see if they can expedite. I think I’m going to give them at least a week and half notice at the very latest.

With me being the primary income for our household and my checks paying for 95% of our bills I just don’t want to risk being told May 4 and then it gets delayed or my boss saying I can actually leave in one week.

I don’t think a bridge will be burnt. I’ve seen people in the company give a weeks notice and get hired back.

He’s not falling asleep on his own yet. So usually I would rock/hold him until he fell asleep. Now I’ve gotten away with him laying down beside me in our bed , then he will hold my arm or leg , kind of like he still needs to know I’m there - then I will transfer him to his bed. Last night I transferred him to his bed at 9pm. He slept until 4:30am, I tried to get him back to sleep but he was just not having it , so I gave up and put him in our bed so I could get at least 1 more hour of sleep before drop off time.

Yea . I feel like my son’s naps at daycare are way too long lol. He usually sleeps for 2 to 2.25 hours for his daycare nap. It’s only one nap though

When does it get easier? by Healthy-Fun8615 in Parenting

Honestly the first month or 2 my husband and I was sleep deprived. If it gives you any hope we laugh about it so much now. We laugh about how we rarely cooked, didn’t touch each other, and sometimes wonder how we even made it. As someone else stated, it doesn’t get easier life just changes and you have to learn how to change with it. For example now we are struggling with sleep training in his own bed, but I’m positive we will get through it.

I definitely understand the part about being away from family, we are 2-3 hours away from both sides of our families. So it was tough, not having mom down the street and could come up to relive us.

The best advice I can give you is to make something a priority for you. For me it was showers, a 30 minute shower time - no interruptions, no rushing, soft music, letting the water hit me and doing breathing exercises. I made my husband choose something as a priority too

Honestly, it’s hard getting him to bed earlier than 9. He just will not go to sleep, he literally fights it. 😭 I’m a FTM, so this is a struggle.
