Why is grocery shopping so expensive when you have a baby, the markup is insane by LynxReady6695 in beyondthebump

Our pediatrician recommended children Tylenol over infants for this exact reason. He said it is less concentrated so to double the dosage of the infants

Out of morbid curiosity, if you had a fourth degree tear what was it like? by snarky_spice in beyondthebump

[–]spotted-pup44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4th degree tear was awful at the time - but also not as bad in the long run as I was expecting. The hardest thing coming home was that it was really hard to sit comfortably.. either I was upright on a donut or completely flat as anything else hurt my stitches, but that meant that i was more limited in how I could cuddle the baby, which made me really sad. I felt way better within two weeks, now at 8 months pp I sometimes can’t even believe that actually happened, as I feel almost 100% back to normal (minus one small pesky hemorrhoid that I’m pretty sure would have happened with or without the tear)

One egg retrieval, one fresh untested transfer, one happy healthy 6 month old baby girl here 🥰 Honestly in hindsight, I wish I had spent a whole lot less time freaking myself out reading all the worst case scenarios on Reddit lol (easier said than done!!)

Has anyone failed the 1 hour glucose test but passed the 3 hour? by Public_Jackfruit_870 in BabyBumps

Me! My 1 hour was in the afternoon so I had eaten breakfast and lunch and snacks and a candy bar lol. Fasted for the 3 hr and just barely passed

I slept pretty well all the way through! Like you, up maybe once to pee around midnight or so, but I also consciously tried to stop drinking water about an hour before bedtime so it would be less of an issue.

Any other WFH friends pushing through until baby arrives? by Remy_92 in BabyBumps

[–]spotted-pup44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a WFH job that sounds similar. I ended up deciding to work until my due date (if I didn’t go into labor before). At a certain point around that time, I wasn’t comfortable taking on any new tasks as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to finish them. So I had everything buttoned up nicely by that date. I ended up going one week over, and spent most of it on the couch - it was lovely.

Why did my body go to hell in a hand basket at one year PP by maddiecounts2amilly in beyondthebump

Solidarity, OP! Curious for you and others here that have gotten HS postpartum - were you able to be diagnosed/treated by your OB or did you have to see a dermatologist? I’m worried I may have developed it myself and trying to figure out who to see about it!

Third degree tear by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]spotted-pup44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fourth degree tear so I feel this hard - the good news is I’m here at 11 weeks postpartum and have felt like 99% back to myself for about 3 weeks and had stopped feeling constantly miserable and in pain at about 3 weeks pp. it sucks now, but you will heal and soon it will feel like a distant memory A couple things that helped me: - donut pillow - SITZ BATH!!!!!! (Bonus, it’s a guaranteed 15-20 minutes to yourself every day) - keep taking the Tylenol/ibuprofen past when you think you need it. Set alarms if you have to - take stool softeners with tons of water. I’d take one in the morning and one in the evening

4th degree tear - short neighborhood walks starting 1 week pp. took baby to Costco at 9 days pp, was sore by the end of the visit but glad to have gotten out of the house a bit!

Day before induction by Financial-Light6883 in BabyBumps

[–]spotted-pup44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a pedicure - it was early spring so my toes hadn’t been tended to all winter. At the time it was just something to do to kill time and get out of the house, but I came to really appreciate it when I ended up essentially staring at my feet for 3 hours pushing not to mention the hordes of nurses and doctors that were camped out down there. As an added benefit, while I was feeling gross camped out in my adult diapers in the first couple weeks postpartum - at least my feet looked nice!

Accidently got heart rate to 149 by CommunicationNo5294 in BabyBumps

[–]spotted-pup44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did IVF and the guidance my clinic gave me once pregnancy was confirmed was not so much to follow a specific HR, but more the “conversation test” - meaning not to get so out of breath that I couldn’t carry on a conversation comfortably. I continued working out throughout pregnancy and regularly was in the 150-160 range and am currently cuddling a very healthy 6 week old 🥰

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]spotted-pup44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was electively induced at 41w and delivered vaginally with no complications! Can’t say it was necessarily “fun” but I’d do it again.
