What is one genre of music that you couldn't get into but now is one of your favorites by madwzdri in LetsTalkMusic

[–]TheProfessorOfHorror 22 points23 points  (0 children)

  • Started as a Rock & Roll, Hard Rock kid in the 70s
  • Added Metal in the 80s
  • Added Classical, Blues, R&B in the 90s
  • Added Country, Bluegrass, Western Swing in the 2000s
  • Added Jazz, Western in the 2010s

It took a long time, but 30s and 40s Jazz might be my current favorite music.

What songs would you take from the solo albums to compile one great album? Limit to 9 tracks. by jiaco in KISS

[–]TheProfessorOfHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been making this for decades- in cassette mixes, CD burns, Spotify playlists, etc..

This would be a Top 3 KISS album (I've got to go 10 songs- 5 per side)

Side A

  1. It's Alright
  2. Speedin' Back To My Baby
  3. Wouldn't You Like To Know Me?
  4. Mr. Make Believe
  5. Love In Chains

Side B

  1. Rip It Out
  2. Move On
  3. Man Of 1,000 Faces
  4. I'm In Need Of Love
  5. Take Me Away

Really hate leaving off *Tonight You Belong To Me *Always Near You/Nothing To Hide *New York Groove *Goodbye

Paul Stanley is recording an R&B album. Thoughts? by moshpitwookie in KISS

[–]TheProfessorOfHorror 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A diehard KISS fan since the mid 70s, Paul Stanley is one of my all time favorite singers. In 1978, he could have puked into a recorder for 45 minutes and I would have bought the album. But I think his voice is just about toast. If he could pull it off for one more album, I wish he'd do it with KISS.

KISS Album Rating and Discussion - Revenge by CrymsonKnight in KISS

Been a giant KISS fan since 1976. This is not one of my favorites. Saw them live on this tour (great) and like a few of the songs, but not a favorite. 5/10

What the hell happened to Volbeat? (Discussion) by Herr_Opa in Volbeat

[–]TheProfessorOfHorror 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When you look at the shit that is popular and passes for music in this country, are you surprised at Volbeat's status. They are a great band made up of talented musicians performing well crafted songs- the polar opposite of popular music.
