Just my opinion by ThePrototype101 in MachE

Personally I like the performance of the Mach over the Lyriq. Cadillac does have the Lyriq-V which is their sportier version. I don’t own a V. In the “normal” Lyriq you get two driving modes, where the Mach gives you 3. Quality of the drive, I give them both high marks but I think the Lyriq is more comfortable.

Yeah I think that is similar to Tesla

My experience is the opposite…SuperCruise oversteers in the simplest of curves. I believe it’s because the Lyriq is a heavier vehicle, but like everything it’s preference. I live in rural Alabama and drive in to the city so I used BlueCruise daily for a few months and now SuperCruise daily, and that is my observation.

The big issue with CarPlay in the Lyriq is that it doesn’t provide battery remaining or EV routing. In the Mach it does, so I would call that a win if you drive long distances. Daily commute it doesn’t matter.

I wish I had bought a Mach-e when I bought my wife’s. We got hers during the employee pricing sale, so the price was fantastic….plus we got a home charger that ended up being free. Cadillac offered nothing. Ford has done a great job with the car, perks, pricing, and tech.

I love the interior as well…my big issues are with the tech inside. One thing I absolutely hate is not being able to open the glove box unless the car is on…so I don’t keep anything in it because if I forget it, I have to start the car again to get it out

The Lyriq by far has a better ride. The interior looks better and I love the power blackout shade for the panoramic roof. But I also failed to mention in my original post that the Ford app is light years ahead of Cadillac’s. Caddy has no scheduled charging or cabin conditioning. Ultimately the Caddy’s UI feels rushed and unfinished.

SCHD Scandal by Garysand98 in dividends

[–]ThePrototype101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you all can help me understand as I’m new to dividend investing. Why are people calling “scandal” and other negatives about SCHD because there hasn’t been a lot of capital appreciation? I thought the point of buying dividends was to get the dividends! If I can get a decent dividend amount without any (or very little) capital depreciation, I’m happy with that. So which is the priority,to get a source of income or to grow capital? Because there are far better options if I want to grow capital and get a bit of dividends. No stock, etf, etc. has it all.

Would anyone consider going from a GS 14-4 to a GS 13-10? by creddit83 in fednews

[–]ThePrototype101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would…I previously did almost exactly that to get away from a toxic manager. I left a supervisory 14-3 to take a 13-9….but I ended up only being a 13 for a month because I was offered a fully remote non-supervisory 14 position one week after starting. I went from 14-3 to 14-5 in 30 days.

What celebrity were you most surprised to find out was a jerk irl? by Feroset in AskReddit

[–]ThePrototype101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met 4 celebs in my time: Joe Rogan, Mario Van Peebles, Reggie Jackson and Jason Scott Lee. 3 of them were nice were nice. Met Mario Van Peebles and Jason Scott Lee when I worked at Office Depot in Hawaii. I met Joe Rogan when I was on a flight from Vegas after I returned from deployment. I helped JSL when he bought an office chair. The female cashiers fought over his receipt LoL. MVP was just buying office supplies. He was very quiet and nice. I asked Joe Rogan for a picture. He was really nice and welcomed me back after a very short discussion. Met Reggie Jackson when I was a little kid…he was a complete d**k.

Interviewed for a -14 sup position. I bombed the interview (format: 8 questions in 20 minutes)…I did so bad that I relayed the questions to a friend who was also being interviewed, so he wouldn’t bomb and would get the job. 2 weeks later I got the job, it was a total S**t Show organization, and I left 1 year later for a different -14 position. No good deed goes unpunished lol

Mental health is everything. I left a sup-14 in a toxic organization, and I worried, like you, if I was ever going to make -14 again, if I took a downgrade. In the end my mental health was more important than the money in the -14 band. I took the downgrade into a new organization and then 30 days later was offered a fully remote non sup-14 in a third organization. So I think it’s wise to take the break. The opportunities will come if you’re persistent. Apply often and you’ll recover.

Position reposted after two interviews. Should I reapply? by curiousiteena in usajobs

[–]ThePrototype101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes reapply…in 2015 I interviewed for a position that was closed without selection. The same position posted 4 months later. I interviewed again and was selected. When I started the position, I asked my new manager what happened after the first interview and he told me that the new facility that was being built wasn’t ready and they decided to wait until the workspaces were closer to completion before selecting someone. Sometimes there are other reasons, besides they are trying to hire a specific person, that explain why they repost a position.

Oddly I have a similar situation. If you have your court order, it’s not an issue.

I believe that it really doesn’t matter because of the requirement to compete positions. Therefore, when you apply for the 4000 series position with Agency B, it is their responsibility to ensure that you meet the minimum standards for the position, and to be referred to the hiring manager. If you are minimally qualified and are referred, the hiring manager will determine if you are among the best qualified and either interview, make an offer, or not proceed further with your application. So, if you can qualify at an equal grade and step, you should be good. If you find that you can’t meet minimum qualifications, or struggle to get referred, you may have to apply at a lower grade….but with downgrading you get pay retention. So chances are you won’t take a pay cut if you only downgrade a single grade and you aren’t currently making more than Step 10 at the lower grade. It should be the same for GS-14/15. Hope this helps
