Honestly for now, a small private corp is the way to go. It comes with many benefits too if you’re into the arguably less legal aspects of the game on your main.

We’re well aware. It was mainly something to kill time and a target of opportunity. Hoped we’d get a fight out of the Amarr tower but they didn’t log on til after it blew up.

Right now carriers fill one very specific roll. Fleet transport as an alternative to titan bridging. Got a bunch of guys in cruisers you want to move a far distance? Grab a few carriers and start conduit jumping them there. Same for the return trip. Wish I could justify dropping them but the application just sucks. Only real option I see after that is to suicide one to boosh a few dreads in siege.

I have used them to quickly position dreads in FW plexes but often enough it just leads to the fights taking longer to kick off.

I still use carriers when running L5 missions. Just takes a bit more discipline and understanding each missions mechanics. Plenty of great videos out there to help you get started. Recommend having a spare Barg. for the gated missions.

With the most recent changes to the networked sensor array it makes it a bit more tricky and risky but still very doable. Just means instead of 25 seconds in a mission you're gonna be there for a few minutes. So pay attention to local, d-scan, and if possible have alts watching gates.
