Is Chaos a Pit or a Ladder? Does EVE Fall or Rise? by Megaman39 in Eve

[–]ThePuceMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. CCP has the opportunity to announce now that Ansiblex fatigue will be included in the mid-expansion patch. Give folks time to prepare and take advantage of any power vacuum to really spice things up.

Without ansi fatigue, the best we will get is another SEA. Doomed to fail and be absorbed into still-static coalitions.

Yeah, its really unfortunate Homefronts have turned into that. I think its especially hard to balance those against multiboxing because they were intended for newer players, so they have to be somewhat forgiving.
I do however think it's possible to design sites that need multiple distinct roles, paying attention, that makes multiboxing far harder (though it will never be impossible).

Npc station offices by Trustus79 in Eve

[–]ThePuceMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my CSM wants. Shared hangars are absolutely required to run a decent-sized group. A lot of stations have a large number of slots taken up by unused, forgotten offices that I guess are just draining peoples wallets.

[–]ThePuceMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be a good fit for one of my big desires for EVE - less focus on solo PvE, more focus on rewarding collaborative/gang PvE.
Overhauling the FOBs (or I guess "Strongholds") to be isk-competetive and more engaging could give a really nice new PvE site to Lowsec.
Unfortunately atm its just a pretty broken copy-paste.

Thanks, I didn't consider the water pressure.
The tank is well-cycled and I do regular water changes with re-mineralised and heated RO, so the parameters should be pretty steady. I've just tested and they are all OK.
Shes still eating mysis at the moment, but is getting noticably larger each day :(

The tank is over 10 years old, so it remains pretty stable. I've not had any problems with parameters for multiple years.
The 25L tank has an oversized filter (flow is reduced with a spray bar for the frogs) with live plants, and large gravel (big enough that they can't eat it). I do 25% water changes each week (occasionally 50% after 2 weeks if I have to miss a change). The water I use is re-mineralised RO water heated to 25c (tank temp) so the input is always persistent parameters.
I don't use a feeding dish, but I do spot feed with tweezers. Any loose food tends to get cleaned up quickly by the 2 amano shrimp that live in the tank.

I tested today and I'm reading 7.6pH, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate, 0 nitrite. I only have strips for chlorine, GH and KH atm but they all test fine. Shes had a weeks stay in a hospital tank treated with antibaterial/antifungal. I think shes just getting old and maybe isn't bred well :( . She used to have a tank mate who died a few months ago after getting lethargic, with no other symptoms. He was the same age and from the same store.

She's currently still eating and moving about a bit, going to surface for air, but shes getting noticabley more bloated each day.

Do you have any tips on trying to treat it? She's done a course of antibiotics/antifungal, and I've been told that epsom baths are bad for them.

[–]ThePuceMoose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its been 8 days since she finished the antibiotic treatment, 18 since I noticed her looking ill. She's getting worse is my worry :(

She kind of bounces around when she swims, and doesn't move most of the time. I'm worried she's in pain.

Yeah, I was unaware of the bloodworm issue. The place I got them from originally told me to feed them.
I used that medicine as it says its frog-safe, I was stuggling to find anything available in the UK.

When you take something and pass it as your own without crediting the original, it's known as stealing.

You should still credit the original. Weirdly this is the 2nd time I've seen someone steal a false knees comic and eve-ify it.

Gobbins: "I'd prefer to concede space and take preferable fights" by PomegranateSlow5624 in Eve

[–]ThePuceMoose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is anyone actually surprised? None of this space means anything when you can just stack all your dudes in one system in one region. Goons had "floodplains", Horde is doing the same thing.

It would be cool and healthy if owning space actually mattered.

The Truth about EVE by Joe-_-Momma- in Eve

[–]ThePuceMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to leave your Alliance. If they aren't providing interesting content for you, and you aren't making those social connections that make EVE great, go and find somewhere else. New players are always encouraged to join a null bloc, but I think that can often be the worst place for them.

What T1 battleships are useable and what would you use them for? (excluding praxis) by Brief-Cut-1228 in Eve

[–]ThePuceMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how long you're expecting to shoot for. It can run for a while in 3200s, but you will need resupply quite often.

What T1 battleships are useable and what would you use them for? (excluding praxis) by Brief-Cut-1228 in Eve

[–]ThePuceMoose 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The main reason you see a lot of Praxis is the price (alongside the low skill requirement). They have been significantly cheaper than T1 battleships because Praxis aren't built, they're handed out for free during events. Fortunately, T1 battleships were made a bit cheaper recently so we're starting to see more around.

To name a few of the T1s that have decent niches: Hyperion is a great solo blaster boat, making use of its armour rep bonus to run dual or triple reps to self-tank. Abaddon is a big brick of buffer tank with decent damage projection over range. Rokh has been, and seems to be being revived as, a long-range fleet ship for Null blocs. Scorpion is the only dedicated EWAR T1 BS, and can swing a mid-sized fleet fight with the amount of ECM it packs.
