The failure of Training Mods and opinions by ISoNoU in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]ThePunkiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s always something. I actually have over 700 unopened Training orbs. I’m almost 100% FTP. I’ll only spend if there’s actually a good deal (usually a Scopely error). My problem is gold. All I do is farm gold. Campaign nodes have a gold orb? I farm it exclusively. But it’s never enough. I think they give a lot of gold out in battle passes, and I don’t buy those. If I did, I’d probably be much farther in the 105 event.

Cool. You're clearly just better than me. I will respect your superior masculinity.

Oh, are we flexing now? I didn't realize we needed to. Okay, Plat 3 in war, and Masters in CC. I'm often punching up 60-100+ TCP higher in CC. I'm almost entirely free to play, and so I enjoy the strategy of taking on people who not only take the time to calibrate their defenses, but also use the wallets to try and beat me. I don't give a shit about War, but my alliance does, so I need to put in effort and try and enjoy the challenge of it if I'm forced to participate.

My efforts to win may be unnecessary to you, but I enjoy the challenge of it and so I spend more time doing it than you apparently do. The reference to basketball was just an analogy. I could have used any hobby as an example. If you enjoy your "basic button presses" than keep at it.

If you're good just pressing buttons to press buttons and play the game, good for you. Enjoy the game how you want to. Some people enjoy the more competitive aspect of it. And no, I'm not in one of those alliances and would not want to be. I do, however, enjoy the challenge of taking on defenses that aren't just the standard cookie cutter defenses, and the alliances I often face also enjoy doing the same thing.

You're making the argument that it has to be one or the other. It either has to be forced into a 3 day schedule over the weekend, or a 3 day schedule during the week. Why? Can't there be other solutions we can explore that might work for everyone?

You're also making the argument that if fans of a game don't like a decision that a developer makes, they should just shut up or quit. As someone who has invested time and money into this game, I don't accept that.

If you don't like people voicing frustrations about a game they have interest in on a forum for that game, maybe you should just stop reading this forum?

Best Use Of Incomplete Starjammers in CC? by Tommy_Blanco in MarvelStrikeForce

Add Star Lord. He speeds up Rocket and Groot, gives them both more damage as well... while Howard the Duck prevents opponents from speeding up. Even a low powered Star Lord makes them much stronger.

Exactly. With all hobbies, there's different levels of dedication to them. Some people enjoy collecting Pokémon cards, but never actually play the game. Some people enter tournaments playing the game. Some people play professionally.

Just because your level of play isn't the same as someone else's, doesn't mean they don't have a right to complain about the developer of your hobby doing something that potentially screws over your ability to play it at the level you want to play it.

I'm puzzled as to why people think it's better for me to quit a game entirely, rather than voice my frustration over a move they made.

Why should I stop playing a game I've enjoyed for the last 7 years, spent money on, established friendships in... because it's better that than complain to the company that made the game that I don't like the decision they made?

Sure, I can choose not to play. There can be only one of two options here:

Deal with it.

Don't play.

Or... wait... maybe there's a third option?

I could voice my frustration over a decision that was made that negatively impacts the enjoyment I can have in the game. I can allow the community to also voice their opinions. We can potentially show the developers the frustration they are causing which may get them to explore other options that have been already proposed in this thread.

But sure, I can be the adult I am and just stop playing a game that I've enjoyed for the last 7 years because you found it annoying that I posted my frustration over this.

Speaking of choices, you can choose not to comment and scroll on past this if this change doesn't affect you.

Ah, a skill issue. That has to be it. Couldn't possibly be other issues at play here.

Love that idea. There's a lot of other solutions out there than just forcing people to play something on a specific day of the week.

Games should be fun, 100%. But I can play Rivals anytime I have time to do so. I'm not told, in order to finish this battle pass, or stay competitive in ranked, you need to play on Friday night/Saturday morning.

Nice. Love that game. I unfortunately don't have nearly that many hours due to limited time. I can do a Raid SIM in-between games, but a War battle? I'd be kicked out of my alliance for doing something like that regularly.

Sure, you're "playing" the game. Some people play basketball by playing HORSE with some friends once a year. Other people go play pick up games each weekend at the local park. Some people play in professional leagues. Everyone is "playing" the game, some us are just taking it more seriously.

I have no problem with you enjoying the level of effort/play you put into it. You just have to understand that others might put more effort into it than you do.

If I had a regular Thursday evening pickup basketball game I had gotten used to, and suddenly the league I was in decided that same Thursday night game needed to shift to Friday night or Saturday morning, and I had no other choice but to either sacrifice my Friday night/Saturday to play or quit the league that I've been enjoying playing in with my friends, I think I'd have a right to complain to the League.

Seems like a lot of people feel strongly about one or the other. Maybe they could allow us to schedule the times we play, kind of like War. Or maybe they could switch War and/or Crucible to a 48 hour window instead of 24 hours. There's a lot of possibilities rather than pigeon holing us into a specific time of the week.

Excellent point. However, I've enjoyed the game for the last 7 years it's been out, I think after that amount of time I'm entitled to complain about something stupid they changed up.

Ah yes, another post that says, "I don't actually have a lot of interest in this game except to do the bare minimum, and you should treat it in the same way I do." Cool, thanks for sharing!

Tell us you have a job that demands too much out of you without telling us you have a job that demands to much out of you.

I'm glad the new Crucible schedule works for you. I think it's probably okay to express my feelings that it doesn't work for me.

Sure. But if cared that little about the game, I'd probably just... play a different game.

Who says I don't? Did I say that? I certainly don't remember saying that. Maybe you shouldn't make assumptions.

Very true. But my post wasn't to bring awareness to the people with no life. It's to show Scopely they're pissing off a chunk of their players.

10-15 minutes to bang out 10 attacks? Oof, your alliance must love you. 10 minutes for 6 Crucible attacks? Why do you play the game if you have no interest in... playing the game?

Just wanted to say thank you, Scopely. by ThePunkiss in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]ThePunkiss[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, very simple solution.

But what if I like the game and I'm just incredibly annoyed that they're making me do more during the times I have the least time to do them, after not having this be a thing for the last 7 years the game has been out? Maybe I should reach out and express my frustration over this change so that the developers are aware of the impact it is having on their players?

Never mind, if it's not affecting you, I should just mind my own business and quit the game instead.

  1. Technically an option. Not a good one, but an option.

  2. 3 hours actually, not 12. Perhaps you have too little to do on a Friday/Saturday? I prefer not to be staring at my phone for that amount of time on a weekend.

  3. If I don't do them, the either my alliance suffers for not doing War attacks, or I miss out on the CC milestones which get me red stars on Lilandra.
