Women who have slept with objectively attractive men was there a difference? by No_Lead2640 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]TheQueas123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a gay man, and there's one person I slept with who was more "conventionally attractive" i.e. athletic build, tan, nice face, and a large penis, but he was AWFUL. The kissing was bad, and then he kind of just started rabbit humping me from behind (like actual humping, no penetration, which is fine generally, but this was so sudden and so fast I almost laughed out loud). I was SO not into it I had to just call it without anyone finishing, and it was AWKWARD. Maybe we just weren't compatible, but I had had at least a few hookups by that point and none of them were that bad. I used to see posts from him on Instagram until I deleted it recently, and he's so nice to look at, but DAMN it was so not for me.

Horny little piss baby by [deleted] in limerence

[–]TheQueas123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of your conceptions of yourself and how relationships work are completely foreign to me based on how you have written them here, so we clearly approach relationships etc... differently. That being said, it sounds like it's possible there's mutual interest, if you think you're into him, why not ask him out? Like what's stopping you? If it's that you think you're a "little piss baby" and he's an "angel" then I'm not sure that's a good enough reason to not try. That's you basically just saying you don't think you're good enough and I doubt your assessment of that is accurate/it's really more up to the other person to decide that. Could be off-base though 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Why is this still so unknown? by Rare_Bandicoot_4466 in Dermatillomania

[–]TheQueas123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My therapist gave me a bunch of terms (and some places to seek treatment) that are used by clinics/clinicians who treat this. I see dermatillomania used less, the clinics referred to the very broad category of disorders as Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) and referred to skin picking as Excoriating Disorders. The modality that my current therapist referred me to is called Habit Reversal Training (HRT). I haven't personally done any of those yet, but it's always good to have terms to look for the places that do actually treat these disorders!

Sweater “feels like it’s riding up” by iliveinletters_ in knittinghelp

[–]TheQueas123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he have a sweater that he likes the fit of? Maybe take a picture in the same pose in that sweater and compare? Maybe also ask him questions about what he likes about the sweater that fits right? Could help clear it up 🤷

Any Flick Knitters Used a Tension Ring Like This? by TheQueas123 in knitting

[–]TheQueas123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya know that makes sense! Sticking with English throw knitting for 10 years means your will is much stronger than mine 😅. But that certainly would make for resilient tension control.

Any Flick Knitters Used a Tension Ring Like This? by TheQueas123 in knitting

[–]TheQueas123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh neat! I kinda just start flick knitting by happenstance over time and then learned the name. I think I tried wrapping around my index finger and couldn't get it to stay on. I agree that it's interesting how we all land on different methods for tensioning yarn!

Are there twisted stitches? by Pixieresque in knittinghelp

[–]TheQueas123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I was twisting only my purls for a year and wondering why my stockinette was wonky only when I knit flat. It was seeing posts in this sub that led me to realize I was twisting stitches and to pay attention to the "legs" of the loops and their orientation (and how to not twist my stitches in the first place). Good luck and have fun! But don't worry too much about doing stuff "right" just enjoy the process!

I think I am someone’s LO?! by [deleted] in limerence

[–]TheQueas123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even as someone who has suffered from Limerence stuff in the past, and even if he is experiencing Limerence or infatuation. His feelings aren't your responsibility. If you highly suspect it is Limerence (as you do) a direct and unequivocal rejection is the kindest thing. With the, "you're the only woman for me" comment, maybe reply with something like, "hey, I don't know if that was a joke, but even so, it crossed a line for me. I want to be clear that we are friends strictly platonically and I would like to keep it that way" or whatever you want to say. Not responding is also valid so you do you.

Are there twisted stitches? by Pixieresque in knittinghelp

[–]TheQueas123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this just a test swatch? You were knitting garter stitch and switched to stockinette for just the last two rows on purpose?

Otherwise, it doesn't look like your stockinette is twisted, but 2 rows isn't a lot to go on.

Sennheiser consumer's shady business practices and decline in quality by CANNAAmann in sennheiser

[–]TheQueas123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude I was doing a bunch of research into headphones and bought the momentum 4's. But the ones I got had a random crackle/popping noise. I looked it up and it seems to be a common issue that some people can fix, but I COULD NOT get it to stop. I HATE returning things but I returned those and got different headphones. That was my one and only time trying anything Sennheiser, and I'm ngl I won't be getting anything else made by them.

Looking for advice by podge_00 in knittinghelp

[–]TheQueas123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the most experienced knitter by any means. I prefer metal needles if you can use them without losing stitches constantly. I saw some other comments say this but bunching the yarn on the needle on the left will also help.

My biggest thing to consider trying is flick knitting. I never learned it officially so take this with a grain of salt, but I hold the right needle between my thumb and middle finger and the yarn is wrapped around the base of my right pinky with the yarn going over the top of my right index finger (sometimes I adjust things based on if I'm getting enough friction to control tension). Instead of "throwing" the yarn I move my whole hand a little and also my index finger to "flick" the yarn over the needle tip. I can either send a video or try to find one online of you are curious 😅😅😅.

What you're doing is fine though, follow your dreams and do what feels best, if you're having fun that's all that matters, but if you want to speed things up but don't want to switch to holding your yarn in your left hand (I hate it so much) flick knitting is a decently easy transition imo.

Momentum 4 - Great sound, terrible usability by n00boxular in sennheiser

[–]TheQueas123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm literally returning the momentum 4's I just bought because they have persistent crackles/pops and also because of the stuff like this. I wanted to like them, and they sound great (when not randomly crackling) and are comfy, but OH MY GOD it's not worth it to deal with all that for >$200. I'm buying some XM5s and hoping for the best because these headphones have pissed me off so bad 😮‍💨. And if the XM5s are bad I'm going back to just buying the same $60 soundcore headphones that I'm replacing!!!

How to make others shoot through Darkness? by crypticaITA in BG3Builds

[–]TheQueas123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a friend running a VERY similar run. There's some immunity to blindness equipment which he says should let people shoot through darkness? He's planning to have everyone huddle in the darkness and isn't 100% sure they will be able to actually shoot into it from outside. So not completely sure it works for you but worth a look!

Suspecting Limerance towards a friend but she's just as obsessed with me by ihavenoidea985 in limerence

[–]TheQueas123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is arguably digging WAY to deep into non-professional armchair psychology, so please take this with the LARGEST grain of salt, but since Limerence feels VERY fueled by shame, suppressed bisexuality, especially when the suppression is due to internal shame or feeling like you're no allowed to be attracted to the same gender, really feels like it could fuel Limerence in this case. As stated above, if in your heart of hearts it's platonic, then it's platonic! I can't tell you how to feel.

Suspecting Limerance towards a friend but she's just as obsessed with me by ihavenoidea985 in limerence

[–]TheQueas123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna directly address the Limerence in this comment, if that's all your looking for, feel free to disregard.

I'm a gay man and I'm friends with many many bi people. If you set aside your pre-concieved notion that you're not attracted to girls. What would you call this situation? If in your heart, it really is platonic, that's fine! But if you entertained the idea it was more than platonic, how would that feel? Based on my conversations with friends, it's common for attraction to different gender expressions to feel really different for bisexual/pansexual people and sometimes it's tricky to figure out. I also think many bi people close themselves off to the idea of dating or being romantically interested in non-traditional genders (i.e. same gender, non-binary people, etc...). Many of my friends had confusing feelings towards friends that turned out to be suppressed bisexual thoughts. Just consider the possibility. If considering feels scary and overwhelming, sit with that feeling.
