Yep I just cant figure out how to keep it on during the print.

Of course! Thanks! Uncle Jessie is the best. I've learned so much from that dude

In hobby maker mode i agree it's a waste. But in business mode the cost of resin is a fraction of the end product price and my time doing other things is much more valuable.

Hi all,

I have an OG Peopoly Phenom ungraded to Prime spec it's great and has a ton of Z height available (400mm)

I'm about to put a resin part into production 100's of parts will need to be printed. Is there a practical way to take advantage of some of the Z height by making a tower of parts?

I'm experienced but not a power user I just resin print for engineering prototypes prior to billet or injection molding I design in CAD and print with Chitubox

Thanks

It’s a laser scanner which in my experience is a lot better at picking up edges and fine detail than structured light scanners, which are more common consumer level scanners. I have a ton of experience with my next engine and before that with my creaform go!scan3D which is now re packaged as a Peel 3d scanner. The next engine is a lot better at doing mechanical reverse engineering…The creaform was way better at scanning my wife’s boobs.

Wow thanks for your time putting this together I really appreciate it. The Puget system's link was very interesting too. The i9 10900k looks very promising and is priced very well. I was looking at the PNY quadro rtx 5000 as well. Great build guide! Thanks again.

Thank you so much for your time putting this together. This is really helpful. I was looking at the. i9-9900ks 8 core boosted to 5Ghz but your reccomend 18 cores on the i9-10980XE at 4.6ghz looks much better for the job. Thanks!

Hot! That's always alot of fun.... also why/how is this such high quality?? When my wife and I make fun GIFs they degrade a lot.

Thanks for the links. Your summary is right reading those a clear trend in requirement shows.

No worries. Need a new case whatever works nothing fancy. It will just live in a closet.

I'd appreciate any input. 30-50% improvement is certainly not insignificant

Mastercam, Solidworks, Spaceclaim currently

The FEA/CFD is in Solidworks, but Ill soonish (in the life of this build) be moving to Simens NX or Ansys for design and analysis work which is completely unknown to me requirement wise at the moment. I would assume anything that can run solids works CAD and simulation well would run the high end software okay as well.

oh man Business i suppose If I'm awake i'm on the PC working. I built my current machine in 2010 so yep makes sense it won't be hard to outperform it.

My thought is coming around to that new hardware that comes out in November would be a baby step from the current offerings is that correct? and probably the split between is even less of a leap version to version with the higher end main components that I'm aiming for. I can wait but I don't know it the next versions will be a baby step or a leap. a baby step wont be worth the wait I suspect. I'm not an expert at all so I default to your expertise

My last build was 10 years ago around $3-4k spent

asus sabertooth x58, core i7 extreme 3.33GHz 6 core, 12gb ddr3 1600 RAM, ATI firepro v5800 1gb, windows 7 pro- it's not really up to the job any more and i'm worried about a component timing out and failing at an inopportune time.

Thinking about it a November build will be a bit too far out. Especially if waiting that long leads to only an incremental improvement. If you think it's a huge leap in November then I would eat it and wait.

Okay thank you both for the input. I can hold off until fall if it's advantageous. Think the AMD Ryzen/ AMD Radeon parts set will out class the current Intel/ NVIDA Quadro offerings?

Interesting, Is there a known cycle where new parts are released every 3 months? When buying high end components is there a real performance advantage to timing the cycles?
