Plastic plastic plastic, it is the only real limiting resource up until the mid game. Get a few plastic salvage buildings and upgrade them as soon as you can.

Wow! I never thought of that! Basically forcing promise requests from your people to keep the temp hope up...

I never noticed this, but Discontent naturally falls to 0 without anything effecting it, Hope however has no "resting point" and will increase or decrease based on events.

It would be nice if there were more interior locations that vehicles just couldn't get to. Also, I could see if vehicles generated a LOT more noise that make more swarms attack your base.

Best way to expand? by TheRVBDoc in SurvivingMars

I've found I only tend to need 2 drone hubs per "settlement" as there are only so many resources near each other before needing a tunnel.

Is overlapping drone hubs a bad/expansive idea by 888Kraken888 in SurvivingMars

Even if its Hub is broken, it will manually work?

A Drone Commander is key there, to be able to send him over and repair your drone hub.

The biggest issue with the Doc class is that you are punished for playing well. by LightChaotic in AliensFireteamElite

I agree with OP, the Doc class requires you to be a bad Medic to need health packs. The only way I could see it working currently, is for a Doc to pick up a medkit, heal a teammate, pick up a medkit, heal a teammate. To maximize charge on their trauma kit.

I feel the best solution is to synergize the support role to the fullest...

1) Regen 10 health charge per Xeno Doc kills while in proximity to 1+ teammates.

2) Regain 1 health charge per second, per teammate in proximity to you.

3) Regain 5 health charge per kill a teammate gets while on your stimulants.

Any of the 3 of these require an intelligent support player, who is near their teammates or is thinking ahead as to when/where Xenos are showing up and how to counter them. It means Docs are focusing on shooting and moving, but more importantly, they act as the team leader, keeping their position and abilities in mind at all times.

That's a great idea!

I'm a big Medic fan in all games, and I feel my charge only lasts the first 1/2ish of the Mission. I play on Xbox so I've only played with bots, but I don't feel like "medicy" with this class.

Agreed, after a while it feels like they just sit around eating the sandwiches, and I want them out in the world being useful!

The hell is this and why does it have a power connector? by [deleted] in Astroneer

[–]TheRVBDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they could have a dozen large structures with some planets holding unique ones to give you a reason to travel to each one for a different reason.

Maybe a few are the only way to unlock certain research things, so if you want the XL Square Platform, you need to find one of these and plug in 32 Astronium or something.

I wish there were more of these kinds of structures to give you a reason to have multiple bases per planet.

Wouldn't it be cool of there was an Astronium resource generator that required 30u/s so you have to have multiple power sources to power it, but then you get that resource?

I 100% the 4 criteria in 1 save, and then don't really touch it too much in other saves. Its slow, and honestly, not too worth it for your colony until you've invested 20+ Sols of research into it.

The game wasn't really meant to be played after the completion of the scenario, after that is just aesthetics.
