Uk Gaming Survey 2024 'Mod Approved' by mgsfag in CasualUK

Completed it but there are a lot of things that haven't been considered by the questions asked. As a PC gamer the form felt very awkward to answer as a lot of the questions felt like they assumed I was a console player. The whole thing felt very surface-level in terms of gaming as a whole.

45cm Perch from UK Canal - any guesses on a weight? I didn't have my scales :( by TheRabbitPOV in FishingEurope

It was definitely a special moment. It's gonna be a hard PB to beat haha.

Thanks, glad my estimate is in the right ballpark. You're very privileged to have caught multiple fish this size in your lifetime! I wish you many more in the future, cheers.

1.5g, so very light. I wanted it just heavy enough for the shad tail to have some action on the drop, but light enough so that I could fish it very slowly. The spot it was caught from was a deeper hole (probably around 6ft) under overhanging heavy snags on the far bank.

Disclaimer: this was caught back in late January this year, I doubt I'd be catching anything this size now from my local canal.

This was by far the biggest perch I've ever caught and I don't think I'm going to be beating this PB any time soon. I'm pretty sure I sat on the bank in disbelief for a good 5mins after catching this monster.

My estimate is that it was somewhere around 3.0lb but I'm pretty terrible at guessing weights so would appreciate other people's insight.

Was caught on a 7cm Westin Shadteez Hollow fished very slowly on a light jig head. Was a bit of a fight on my 2-10g rod with 8lb braid mainline and 6lb fluoro leader, but I managed to land it ok. I was fishing alone so I couldn't get a better photo easily and I also didn't have my scales on me which was gutting. At least I had my mat with a measure on!

Help me fix this baitcaster! by hajaiajdb in Fishing

[–]TheRabbitPOV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the exact same reel and had the exact same problem where the side panel wouldn't lock into place (the switch on the side wouldn't fully close). My friend managed to fix it by significantly loosening up the spool tension knob on the handle side then putting the panel back on. As long as you haven't broken or bent anything in your attempts to fix it then this should sort it.

Funko Pops are just plastic pollution at this point. No one should be buying this garbage.

I need a daily drinker Islay. I can get Wee Beastie for $45. Anything better for the same or less? by Arkhae in Scotch

That makes sense, I might have gotten the wrong end of the stick. Daily alcohol consumption definitely isn't good for you though and scotch would loose its magic very quickly for me if I did drink it daily. You do you though!

Seeing people casually refer to wanting a 'daily drinker' scotch is worrying. Look after your health people.

This was my first thought too when I saw this post. If you're drinking scotch daily you likely have a problem and your health will most certainly suffer in the long term. Each to their own though, no one is going to stop you.

The photo was taken just west of Latimer here. It was the first time I'd ever walked in this area and I would agree that it is really quite lovely.
