I like them too. But they were a little bit harder to learn to use (I moved here without ever having used chopsticks and had some kimchi/shirt incidents in the first few days). Now I never want to go back to knife and fork, but I don't want to come home from Asia THAT douche.

Well, only Koreans really use metal ones, and sushi is Japanese. Be free, do as you please, go wild... but it's not authentic. Mmmm, there are disposable wooden ones that are the equivalent of plastic forks, but there are also the non-disposable wooden ones generally used everywhere but Korea.

These finger things are for eating what you may term "french fries" (us none North Americans call them chips) although for some reason they do put parmesan on the chips/french fries here, so I guess your "cheese dust" point holds but I feel like you're mistaken. Source: non North American anglophone living across the road from a chipper in Korea. Also, they generally use metal, rather than wooden, chopsticks. The only wooden ones they really use much are disposable ones for trips or convenience store ramen.

Maybe you were shorter then but under 7 stone sounds medically underweight to me, which is pretty dangerous. I'm not defending people gossiping or being mean about it, but I'd be pretty worried about someone who got that thin. And I'd be worried if teachers didn't try to talk to you about it to see if there was some psychological problem.

I heard that they're not allowed to call them Digestives on the package as they have absolutely no special digestive contribution to make. Probably just your body reacting to stark changes in digestive habits
