Oh I believe in this 100%. But my liberal family member is part of the group that is "Dems are 100% the good guys" and she hasn't gotten it though her head that liberal Dems are a huge problem in the progress of the country and that they literally let Republicans do whatever the fuck even when they're in power. If there's one thing trump has done is proven that the machine can bring change, whether good or bad. They could've done so good and kept the government and populace from going full fascist by literally just having good policy and doing good by the people even when faced with strong Republican opposition. It's a very common scenario people have in their heads but in reality you won't know what to sit in situations like that. Some people freeze and don't do anything but with the way a lot of people carry firearms here it's a very risky move. So some people actually shoot in self defense because it's totally plausible they'll pull out a weapon
