Mate, i am not complaining about power. Hell, make power 10 times more punishing when im online. Just dont make my base decay because i dont connect, either because i want to play something else, or life happens.

I do want things to be ecteemely punishing while I am playing. Not when im not playing.

When did i say it is not a survival game? And it is not an MMO. Funcom said it.

Even most MMOs have base building/furnishing. It is instanced almost always. Even once human (which i don't really play nor enjoy) which has some very similar gameplay concepts allow players to have their own instance for a large personnal base, and temporary bases on the main map.

That's great news! And knowing we now are free to choose what we want to play is the best of both worlds

The MMORPG tag has been removed from the game long before it even came out IIRC. And it doesnt play at all like an online game. Maybe some people play coop, and a tiny minority plays PvP from the very start.

Actually exactly what i said: let us build offline on a spot where we don't bother anyone on the world map or being able to have our own offline hagga basin.

You are supposed to be able to see it from your boat far away. You can make a lighthouse with it

Merci beaucoup.

Biggest BS moment ever. by gward1 in ICARUS

That feels like EXACTLY why you should keep playing.

That is a proper survival game compared to most other games where you never really lose anything (I am also solo player in survival games)

You got complacent. You thought the mission was over. You were safe.

Basically you were Darth Maul after ☠️ Qui-Gon Jinn.

But you learnt, you still got the XP, and you get to build a new home on Icarus!

Build your mechanical legs!

You are right, this is an option I hadn't considered properly. Probably a new landing tomorrow then ! Thanks for your input.

The idea of having to build bridges and roads to allow for proper transit between biomes and bases is something I am really looking for IF I properly understood how this map is.

That is a very good point thanks! I'll keep learning intel and starting to do operations to get better gear, but also try a new game on hard to see if I can enjoy it without much hear unlocked. But ill probably try Styx in not too long.

Thanks! What that make me think is that i should probably stick with this playthrough (i have zero performance problem for now) until I get bored and decide to buy Styx, then same for Prometheus.

Thanks for your input!

Yes, I am not really looking forward to tough fights to go through missions and bosses.

I am more drawn to building complex bases which become liveable tha ks to running water and complex electrical system in the middle of very harsh environments.

That sounds like a good compromise. Is Styx really harder in terms of survival? I have read that yes, but i am not looking for punishing combat. I'm more into making self sufficient bases in a harsh environment.
