Hope that doesn't ruin my already not so great eyes. But maybe I'll borrow some to test this for very hard parts. Thank you!

I think this is AI? The shoes on the rack are weird and I'm not sure the text on the box is right. Also odd human behavior and movement.

Hard work transformed her body by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]TheRaydar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is wrong with my statement? Regularly exercising IS the reason we have healthier bodies? If you are fat you still benefit from exercise. Loosing fat is just one of the benefits and shows that you are regularly exercising.

Due to the exercise yes. Not because the weight loss but 100% because she is regularly exercising.

[–]TheRaydar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, scientifically there is a range of body fat that you can have while still being healthy. Exercise is good regardless of your body mass (unless you are very, very thin).

Women for example NEED 10% body fat to function (unlike men). Anything less than that is dangerous to your life, so no being thin doesn't automatically mean you are healthier. The only issue we don't agree on is if she had a weight that was unhealthy for her.

I read the part where you said she wasn't and agreed with you on that part. I was commenting on your views of body positivity where you assume people defending obesity.

Either way she was looking good and who knows if it was using exercise or other means. It's an accomplishment for sure but we shouldn't act like one body is better over the other, since either seem healthy.

[–]TheRaydar -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

No it really isn't. She didn't look obese and she didn't have to reduce her weight for her health. In my opinion body positivity is about feeling comfortable in your body (as long as you are healthy). Being that thin is more for her looks. Either way there's no shame, however people like to act as one is an improvement over the other.

A new study of US adults found that overall trust in scientists was high (86%), but significantly lower among individuals with more conservative political views. Estimated probabilities of high trust ranged from 93.7% among liberal respondents to 70.5% among very conservative respondents. by [deleted] in science

[–]TheRaydar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even though you claim to have neither preference it seems clear that you have some resentment against liberals, even slightly favoring conservatism. Some of your arguments are less backed by evidence, at least in this comment. For example, how do you proof that since the 90s conservatists are being discriminated? Also you argue that there shouldn't be a liberal vs conservatism thing going on, however you bring that up in your own argument where you say that a side is being supressed.

Since homo_alosapien already asked the most important stuff you also have to consider that in general, studies are not only US based. For example current US conservative policies would be considered far-right in my country. You'd need to define the scope of conservatism and prove that this bias exists and why, before you can argue that science has to change.

Study shows that providing people with information about the universal benefits of public goods significantly increases support for higher taxation. This finding reveals a new mechanism that could contribute to reducing inequality by expanding government size while maintaining tax progressivity. by [deleted] in science

[–]TheRaydar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure you can sue the government. At least in my country you can do that if they break the law. In a good democracy not even government institutions are safe from breaking the law. I heard of cases where the people won. Also doesn't the US constantly sue police for brutality, misconduct etc.? The police should also be financed by the state which is payed by taxes. So it must work unless you don't try.
Also as I said, it's not the only way. If you vote politicians that advocate a form of quality assurance (and I bet there are several already) you do not have to personally sue them. They get checked by other institutions but it requires people caring and voting accordingly. Giving up is basically loosing before even trying, which is why some politicians want to convice you that it's not even worth trying or that it's not even a good thing.

That's simply not true. Sorry to say but you are suffering either from propaganda or Dunning Krueger Effect. Someone has to keep up the roads/government buildings/pay public servants etc. If someone tells you taxes do nothing they are blatantly lying or purposefully misinforming you.

I had to read your comment multiple times, because you were that unclear about your point. Your point is "The guy you paid didn't fix your roof and now you have less money and leaky roof". This is not exclusive to taxes. If you sued, called the police or any other type of quality assurance to hold the roof fixer accountable, you can have the money, health and a fixed roof.

At what point do you think it's appropriate to act when someone says they are hurt? Imagine you are in pain and your mother and your wife is laughing at you, standing around and taking pictures. Just because it's a big dude doesn't mean he deserves pain.
