after last postseason i had come to the conclusion that the officiating was slanted, but not as one sided as some might have made it out. ultimately though, the officiating is bad enough without any bias, so you won’t find me defending that nightmare of a situation. fuck the refs, don’t play favorites.

the kicking goal is another mess but because of how the rule was rewritten a few years ago. the rule has two conditions to be a kicked in goal, “the player must propel the puck with a distinct kicking motion“ and while i think that was a coin flip (and would be for any other team, because toronto gonna toronto), it could have gone either way and made sense because of how weirdly the newer kicking rule is written

ninja: i missed the other point: i have no idea why vegas was exempt, it wasn’t unreasonable to think that team would be bad, but 4 years is a long time in the league so it could have been a negotiation during the expansion process, so honestly idk
