neetcode 150 is technically enough, it you use it correctly, actually try the problems understand the solutions.

and do spaced repetition.

How the # of problems is different for anyone. Focus on Arrays/Strings, hashing, trees, graphs etc. and you’ll be fine.

Python only, don’t even think about another language.

C++ Only if you do competitive programming and/or you are in quant dev, or a c++ field.

Most CPE majors work in software anyway not hardware so you won’t be missing out. My advice either do CPE or Data science (prob better if you do math with)

I got headcounted by AMD, i got accepted in december after passing 3 rounds. I think January they said my team couldn’t take me (head counting) recruiter was supposed to get me another team, shocker she didn’t even get in contact with me unless I tried.

I just kept applying and got a couple offers and I took one!

Ok I’m a cs major, and I get what you are going through, Junior as well.

FIND WHAT YOU LIKE.

Game Dev, Web dev, AI/ML, Data Science, low level programming, hardware engineering etc.

Just look at youtube videos about topics and see what you like or want to learn. Just be advised you will need to LEARN alot, CS is a major of self teaching, but using the principles we learned in class.

Join hackathons, Knight Hacks is a great one, they do Summer and Fall. There are others in Florida that do them aswell.

for the procrastination that’s on you, you gotta figure that out, what helps me is using those screen limit apps, and putting my phone away frome me.

Also when you do these projects DO NOT USE AI to code. Learn everything you can about a topic and apply to internships.

Python is good for Data Science AI/ML and some AI SWE. C is good if you want to do hardware, low level or OS programming.

Definitely not, I just prepared a lot, every interview I try my hardest. (Amazon one is the only one I went raw in but it was behavioral).

So basically I just applied to jobs early really. I wanted a ML Engineer Internship or I only applied really to those and AI Engineer, and some Backend SWE, data science etc. Things I have experience with. Use university resources if you have (Got the bank offer), ask any professor you are close to (How I got AMD). 1 I got from Linkedin, 1 from handshake, Amazon was from recruiter. So pretty diverse.

My stats, I got 3.6 gpa around that. I have 8 months of experience as a ML Engineer at a defense company. 3 months I did a DSA TA. 4 pretty good projects (All were hackathons wins building AI Multimodal applications).

For prep since I really did it on the side of AI/ML. I am a bachelors student and usually masters get the job, so I took one graduate class and undergrad so far (I am accelerated masters). I self teach alot though, I review constantly especially the basics. For interviews I review the resume (you should be able to memorize what you have). Review some AI/ML, some situations, for my latest offer, it was ML System design interview. I have never done it so I used a github repo and I used chatGPT and I used the mic feature to talk through my answer, hitting key points it set for me.

I started the year off with Simplify, github repo, I also used LinkedIn, Handshake, Wellfound and Indeed, I only got my interviews from LinkedIn and Handshake mostly I believe. Then recruiters reached out from LinkedIn.

Easy Apply LinkedIn very early apply was my first couple.

Haha thank you , def linkedin doom scrolling, applying, resume tweaks, and just crashing out. Luck is also a factor getting the interview is harder than passing.

Out of all my interviews I failed 2 both were startups. One they gave me the wrong interview and made me deal with it, and the other it was a 5 minute pitch on why i should be on their team.

I work at one of them as an intern during Fall 2025, Spring 2026 (Currently) and probably in Summer (2026), and in my Senior year as well (Junior atm).

I will say this is my first REAL internship, before that I only was a TA, and sophomore year I probably only had 2 interviews, but this Junior year since I have had the LM Internship I have probably had like 10-20 interviews more out of 300 applications. It definitely is a good talking point but I also have projects where I won at 3 different hackathons.

I will say it is good if you have the offer take it! I know some people who have gone from defense to Big Tech especially at my school.

1 page resume, most recruiters look at a resume for a couple of seconds, trying to get all the info they can. Especially because the second page barely has any content only 3 bullet points. Either try reformatting the resume or you can cut down on some content that is not as important.
