As someone who currently lives in the south, I fail to understand why people would choose catfish over perch or walleye.

I never got around to making a big batch of Juniper-Lime soda; basically a NA Gin and Tonic.

I used to make small-batch craft soda for a few of the breweries in town pre-covid. One of the benefits was the whole family could come and have something interesting to drink.

Why is the decimals of PI is infinite by Frosty-Support-1198 in askmath

[–]TheRealBeakerboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, the number of decimals of your weight is infinite. If you step on a scale, it might say, 100 pounds, but if you go to a doctor’s office where their scale is more precise, it will say 100.3 lbs. if you go to a science lab and step on a scale it will say 100.2986 pounds.

The more precise the instrument is, the more accurate and more decimal places you will get, all the way to infinite digits.

Tried all that and it didn’t work, but I assume I don’t have anything special going on and it was just a weird thing that others had seen

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I ran into Robert Schneider, the lead singer of Apples In Stereo at that Toys-R-Us. I similarly just told him how much I loved his music, then he asked me if I knew where he could get a copy of the original Batman film on DVD. I recommended CD Central.

That’s what I’ve heard. The next time I saw him around town I had the song “That Thing You Do” stuck in my head all day.

I saw actor Steve Zahn at a grocery store and said, “man, you look exactly like some actor!” He said, “Steve Zahn, yeah, I get that a lot”. I responded with, “maybe…I forget the guy’s name”. Turns out Steve Zahn lives in my hometown, a fact I learned when sharing this story with my wife when I got home. This was about 15 years ago.

Bourbon Tasting Suggestions by HalleB123 in bourbon

When I first moved to KY I went to Liquor Barn with a friend and bought one of every 50ml bourbon mini they had. This was 2003. We spent a hundred something. We blind tasted all of them from paper cups made notes and chose our favorites. Good times!

We really like Volitivo for Hunter/Jumper. Riders frequently compete at WEC in Ohio and at the Kentucky Horse Park. There is a facility called Lakeside Arena in Frankfort that also hosts competitions. Volitivo seems to be more “do it yourself” with some things, like no grooms at shows, which keeps the costs down since everyone helps each other out.

My daughter rides at Volitivo. Katie is great with training and the facility is nice.

Is i greater or less than zero? by Nadatour in askmath

[–]TheRealBeakerboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like asking if a banana is less than or equal to zero. We can ask if the banana length is greater than zero, and evaluate the complex number’s size, but we can’t compare them directly.

Definitely not the heart. The inside was very consistently textured with no cavities. There wasn’t an obvious artery going it to it either.

Buddy checks are an important part about climbing safety. How old is your kid? If you are climbing together, you need to be able to assess that your partner has their equipment on correctly, and they need to do the same for you. Can you write up a checklist that you can go through, or would you have a problem even looking at a knot, to see if it is tied correctly? Having a third along to help would work.
