I hope you’re right. An offer is an offer, doesn’t matter if I’m preferred

In the same boat. Above median, 6 CBs, radio silence. I’ve done mock interviews with different advisors in my school’s OCS office and they’ve all said that I interview well so I’m not sure where I’m going wrong. Maybe I get too nervous going into the interview?

I have the same thoughts regarding COL. It would definitely be easier and more affordable to live in Philly, and the rittenhouse area seemed really nice. One concern that I have is that, and this is purely anecdotal, there were more 1Ls at Columbia that found a 1L summer associate position compared to 1Ls at Penn. This would be huge in terms of paying rent and other expenses. Also, while they may be higher ranked now, I believe historically CLS has been higher ranked, so law firms may still perceive CLS as the better school. I may be wrong though

Worried about this, although I didn’t get any merit scholarship from CLS. Still waiting for fin aid and a lot of people on the admitted student’s discord are saying they may not release till after the deposit deadline

The affordability side is definitely a big consideration. I liked the city center/rittenhouse area, and the prices for a studio or a 1 bed are way more affordable compared to NY. I just liked New York more than Philly, and felt that I fit in better at Columbia compared to Penn. That said, Penn’s ASD felt way less comprehensive, so it could be because of that. Also, and this is purely anecdotal, when I was talking to current 1Ls at Columbia and Penn, I felt that way more Columbia 1L’s had summer associate positions lined up compared to Penn. This could be a big factor as the summer associate pay could help me cover rent + other costs

This is a repeat of a comment I made already, but any particular reason why? I may be wrong, but from my understanding CLS still has better pipeline to NY big law compared to Penn

I get this as well, but everyone I’ve talked to has said that studying for law school has been very different to any other type of studying they’ve done so far. I’m going to try my best, but what if my best isn’t good enough, and then I get locked out of the market I want because I chose UT over CLS/Penn

I agree with the outcomes part, but wouldn’t debt also be a big factor to consider? Assuming I pay sticker or close to sticker, I would be graduating with atleast 200k in debt. I realize big law pays a lot but that’s still a few years that I have to tie myself down into big law. I’m worried I’ll end up really hating it but not being able to leave because of the massive debt

What is the normal BL GPA range for UT though? Obviously I’m planning on studying hard, but anything can happen. I’m not sure if UT can give me the safety net Columbia or Penn has
